we have autofill but not the one you show.

And if they do not shut off, which has happened to mine on more than one ocassion, they do not create a mess because it is so slow a fill and just gets recirculated or drain in the over fill....but it does raise the water bill and I mean significantly.

Most autofills are nothing more than a toilet tank fill valve and have proven to be suject to jamming with a grain of sand or what ever else may ail it.

As a result I have now a marked spot on the pool wall that i use to gage a need to fill level and place a hose in for an hour or two and it brings it right back. This time of year maybe once evry couple of weeks. In the summer time more like once per week. Evaporation is substantial in the summer months.
