Growing up in NYC, the house was always loaded with newspapers. Dad was a stockbroker, so he read the Wall Street Journal. On Sundays, it was the Daily News and New York Times. During the week, it was the Daily News in the mornings and Long Island Press in the afternoons. Our neighbor worked for the Herald Tribune, so that was frequently in the house. Throw in the Mirror (another tabloid) and World Telegram and Sun (which later merged with the Herald Tribune). Now, in NYC, a city of 9 million people, you've got the Times, Daily News and the New York Post (tabloid). Of course, the WSJ still exists, but the rest are but a memory. My favorite paper here in central Florida is the Orlando Sentinel.
