There are as many opinions on this topic as there are golf cart dealers. We have lived here full time for just over three years, and own two electric carts. Battery replacement on one cart can run from $600-700 because it is an eight battery system. I'm actually getting ready to sell both my electric for gas. Yamaha only and fuel injection only. Least odor and best performance. It just all depends on your individual needs. I like to be able to get out and go from one end of TV to the other. That is getting very difficult on an electric cart.
