We haven't gone to a parade or to watch fireworks for years. The big draw was when our children and grandchildren loved them. Now I don't like the traffic jams.

I am a patriotic girl and hide if you are wearing a uniform because I will shake your hand and thank you. I get all teary eyed when old glory passes by but...

fireworks...not so much anymore.

I like a good picnic on the fourth with burgers and baked beans and potato salad and I wear my nice red golf shirt with my navy shorts.

I love a lot of things patriotic but I can see the fireworks from all around if I pull my cart over near a big open space like a golf course and you can see them in the surrounding areas.

You know I will defend the developer. I am waiting for that first check, Gary.
I don't NEED golf courses or NEED rec centers or NEED most of the other recreational opportunities that are offered around here, but I moved here because they were available, and I wanted to enjoy them!! If I'd wanted to have to drive around to surrounding communities to find parades and fireworks, I could have stayed in Ohio. If I'd wanted to have to organize my own picnics and other July 4 activities, I could have stayed in Ohio. This place waves lots of flags and makes lots of patriotic noise but seems to have trouble putting its money where its mouth is.
