Why??? because we are human and have strong opinions, because we believe in the jury system, because we can see beyond the race baiting in this tragedy and look at the evidence. I highly resent the patronizing attitude that because we believe differently than you we must somehow be deficient and not what you think The Villages should be. I think the biggest difference between your thinking and the rest of ours is we welcome all opinions, not just the ones that agree with us.
Good post...thanks for being "hard" and I wish you had been harder.

The one thing in this area of discussion, ie., those folks posting that really has irked me is the posters on here posting guilt and innocence BEFORE any trial and with no evidence and actually while the police investigation was still in progress.

Folks actually ROOTING for one or another side as if it were a sporting event.

I have read posts on here WAY BACK EARLY ON that were almost lifted from the tv screen and MSNBC...almost word for word. Folks telling others how to think and what to say.

THAT bothers me about Villagers for sure, and you are so correct. Folks only care about one opinion and that would be theirs. Ask a civil question of a poster that has an answer that may make them uncomfortable they simply ignore such question.

All of us have notions, ideas, beliefs and many of us feel strongly. You cannot change those feelings and that is not what I suggest.

The problem is, we have no political board any longer but this has been a political issue and it should never have been...it should be about the LAW and nothing else.

It is not over folks....not even close. Zimmerman may have been found not guilty but the chase will continue.

I was living parttime in Tampa when this took place and so much discussion on the street concerning another racial killing in Jacksonville where a mentally retarded white man was beaten to death by 4 black males and they admitted it was because the guy was white.......CNN actually made mention of the case but never mentioned the color of anyone's skin or the motive in the killing.

Those criticizing Villagers, and making dumb statements about questioning the folks who live here need to get out a bit. A very very small portion of Villagers post or read this TOTV, sorry....but it is just a fact of life.

Because someone has a gun, legally.....why does that disqualify them as a Villager in some way ? Because someone believes in the neighborhood watch system......why does that disqualify them as a Villager. Because someone thought Zimmerman was not guilty and should now be left alone..why does that disqualify them as a Villager?

Lots of judging going on that is for sure !!!

My interest is the politics of this....I trust the judicial system...not perfect, but I trust that most times they get it right.......my postings were about the political interference into the investigation and the continued interference. I would have ignored this thing entirely but I know how the investigation was just plain taken off course by politics and that really bothers me...obviously more than most I guess based on the comments but if we allow it to continue and this has no left or right bias to it.......we really really have more serious problems in this country than I thought.

If that makes me not qualified to live in The Villages, where I have been for 13 years....ok.....but I am not questioning anyone else as others want to do.

I do not have that right as others seem to feel they do.
