What type of "fan palm" are you getting in exchange? I would definitely ask for the species name, and make SURE it is cold hardy for TV. There are many fan palms that don't like temps below freezing & will show damage, or worse yet...die. Your pindo palm, on the other hand, is rock solid cold hardy for TV. If I were you I would demand a sabal palmetto since they are slow growing & it will be fairly low maintenance. I would NOT accept a Washingtonia since they are very fast growing & in just a few years you will have to hire someone to trim the dead fronds.
Otherwise I think it's a reasonable deal. Large, trunked pindos aren't in high demand so I believe $200 is a fair price.
