Just a thought, if the tailpipe exits under the rear bumper, you may experience the "station wagon" effect where the fumes may be coming back into the cart from the rear as you are driving. Many gas carts have the exhaust pipe exit out the side of the cart in front of the rear tire to lessen the fumes coming in. You may wish to contact a golf cart mechanic and have him modify your exhaust pipe of install an extender.
