For the foreseeable future, I believe we will likely be seasonal residents as long as we can manage it financially and our health permits it.
As we are under agreement to sell our home in MA, I have been thinking about this quite a bit lately. I have been in TV through July and did not think the heat would be a reason I would leave, it does bother my wife more than me. I imagine the weather pattern gets a bit boring after a few months

I agree with what Kitty said with one exception. If I could find the right place, I may consider owning. As an example my Dad has a small cottage in the "Campground" of Martha's Vineyard. See link for what I mean by campground.

He can walk to town or the harbor, most residents are seasonal, the houses are closer together than TV!. If I could manage to have a cute place in that type area I would love to. Maybe get me a little boat for some fishing....

, we have 8 months or so to decide our next 'seasonal' adventure. If we go the route of renting, we have talked about picking a different place yearly, maybe Seattle, Maine, or Canada, many many places we have never "lived".
