I think you're having a little problem with your "ciphering". The rates at Stonecrest include a cart. At the Villages, residents can use their own carts, yes, but they are paying for the carts themselves, the maintenance, gas, electric bill, etc. and of course the cost of the priority membership, which is $745 for a single or $950 for a couple. The priority rates for golf in The Villages are simiiar to rates in Stonecrest and other neighboring courses, but after adding on all the abovementioned costs, you are paying more to play golf here. Also, the rates for non-residents to play golf in The Villages are exorbitant, and its almost impossible for a non-resident to get a tee time in the high season. Why would a Stonecrest resident come here and pay $70 to play a round of golf, assuming he/she could even get a tee time, when they get a resident discount to play their own course, ppay $35 or less, and they are assured of a tee time? What you
do see happen quite frequently is that Villagers go off campus to enjoy a variety of courses and/or play with friends who are not residents. There are a number of men's and ladies groups that do this on a regular basis.
