Wild salmon vs farm raised
When you go to a supermarket fish department, the type of salmon offered is labeled. So you know what you're getting without a doubt. The same applies to canned salmon where wild is labeled as such.
But I've been looking at the ads in the newspaper, in advance of Thanksgiving, and restaurants that offer salmon don't specify "wild" or "farm raised" although they sometimes specify the typed of dressing that goes with it. Being that the prices are fairly high, one might assume that it's wild salmon.
If most people don't know the difference, and they probably know that most people either don't know or don't care, I suppose they would likely provide the one that costs them less. And that would be "farm raised".
What do you think? Did I get it right?
I will probably end up having a little turkey because I hate having to call them to ask about it. (No Golden Corral this year.)
