Any ideas that anyone else has seen or done, aside from just closing the room in. I've heard of other (very expensive) electric roll down shutters, but not sure we wanna go that route either. HELP!! Am I missing something we can do without selling a grandchild???

We had the same problem with sun and rain. After installing the sun shades, we can use the lanai in all weather. The way the shades are installed, the wind will not blow them open. The rain will go through the shades either.
These are not your cheapest option, but the incredibly well.
