Happened to me a couple of years back...went outside and called the guy on it while handing him the plastic newspaper sleeve he had neglected to carry with him! Made sure that the next time I saw him and his dog nearing the property that I went to the property edge in time for him to see me sprinkle ground red pepper along the edge of the lawn. To this day he and his dog cross the street before they reach our property. He must have spread the word because no dogs encroach on our property now - and the ground red pepper is just used in my cooking!

The red pepper remedy was given to me years ago by our vet when I had need to resolve the same problem up north.
