Default One Person's Opinion

Charles Schwab gives you the option of investing on your own via their web site, or you can get into a Schwab Managed Account, if you have 100K to start.

Financial advisor is someone who you can trust, to meet your goals and plan your life accordingly.

Broker is their to sell stocks/bonds. Period.

If you go the managed account route, the yield or return, will depend on your risk tolerance. I like to sleep at night, so I have a conservartive type portfolio. It is very devisified. When the market goes down, it loses less, than when it goes back up. You can't time the market anyway.

This is not financial advice, but something that works for me. I'm a no fuss, no muss, type of guy. If I have to watch every transcaction, it takes away from enjoying life in TV. IMHO
