If you have no installation disk I don't know if I'd be removing system files because you could always make your computer inoperable and then you'd be forced to try to buy a system disk on line or go buy a new copy of windows. Might be time to take it to an expert. Maybe try to get help from the Villages Computer Club. I'm like you, I try to do things myself and have several years background in working with computers, but sometimes I get myself in deep and call in an expert. Good luck.
