A big THANK YOU to posters Red Tail and CFrance for the suggestion of using Comcast's Chat. Nearly two weeks ago, along with some neighbors, we lost our Comcast and internet (probably due to a significant storm). The next day we left on a trip. Returned home to find TV back but still no internet.
Took the laptop to our local Rec Center (to use their internet since we had none) to try Chat. The posters named were spot on. When I logged in, I was #29 in queue but within 5 minutes I was at the top of the list and connected.
Eventually my Chat contact resent a signal to the modem which solved the problem.
I'll definitely use Chat again. The trip to the Rec Center was less frustrating and took up a lot less time than the hold time I would have spent on the phone.
