This is one of the few places we have ever seen a mosquito in Vermont. Missiquoi Refuge.
It's flat, wetlands.....close to Canada. Near Lake Champlain & the Champlain Islands.
Northern Vermont actually had an encephalitis scare, just like Florida......last summer.
I think they call it eee ?? E.E.E. Eastern Equine Encephalitis? Only where there is swampy water.
Our only large body of water is to our Northwest.....Lake Champlain borders Vermont/New York State.
Where we are , there are no mosquitos.......NONE. No spraying with poisonous chemicals, nada.
However, up in the mountains there are black flies in springtime, which are most annoying.
Where we are, we have plenty of BEES, HORNETS, WASPS.
Always something, isn't there? Right now we are trying to capture a groundhog & skunk....in a have a heart trap.
