If you take a good look at the training that Tiger (very secretive about specifics of course) undertakes you'll notice that the majority of modern golfers do the same. Just watch golf channel and look at the shows about golf fitness and what they go through. Yes they increase their muscle mass but they work very, very hard at stretching, plyometrics, range of motion, etc.
