Morels, chatarelle, shiitake (spelling errors possibly) are exceptions. but they grow in deciduous areas. I would not eat anything growing wild here.

Even morels have a poisonous look-alike. If the stem is hollow, it is a morel .If it looks like a morel but the stem is solid, it is not.
