Solar energy has the least impact but is only good when the sun is shining. (Even in Florida it can be cloudy for several days at a time.) Electric cars have to be plugged in to get energy derived from fossil fuels. Wind energy kills birds and bats.
What happened to energy derived from ocean currents? They've been working on it for a long time but no word on that yet.
My point: Let's not punish the use of fossil fuels until we have something substantial to replace them with. We get affordable home-energy here in central Florida because of coal, oil and gas.
I'm not off topic, I'm just commenting on something that has already been said.

That's why I said
viable alternative. And mainly I was talking about replacement for gasoline in our cars in response to Gracie's comment about the pipeline. We stop working seriously on that every time we find another source of oil. Again, viable. Not something that creates more problems than it solves.
