Someone said on here that there is not much our federal government can do about this.....I say that there is like freezing the visa of almost 14000 folks who can come and go here at will because they have a visa and they live in the environs of where this disease is most prevelant.

"The first case of Ebola diagnosed within the U.S. is prompting calls for heavy travel restrictions between the U.S. and those West African countries hardest hit by the outbreak — and one advocate is even warning against the possibility of “Ebola tourism” by patients seeking better care here."

Someone explain why we at least do not make an effort on this front.

"For now, the administration is rejecting calls for a visa ban for West Africans. “I don’t believe that’s something we’re considering,” a State Department spokeswoman told reporters. Health officials have described the Texas case, in which Mr. Duncan exhibited symptoms but was released from a hospital for two days, as a fluke misstep."

"A patient is being evaluated for Ebola at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., a hospital spokesperson confirmed Friday.

That person has been admitted to the hospital in stable condition and is isolated. The medical team is working with the CDC and other authorities to monitor the patient's condition."

"A Montgomery County, Maryland hospital says they're treating a patient with flu-like symptoms who has a travel history that matches criteria for possible Ebola, but the patient has not been diagnosed with Ebola at this time."

Not to panic but at least why are we not doing all we can about shutting the borders.
