Sophie yes I am a Christian and was saved when I was 13 years old. We have always used only the King James version of the Bible. The book of Revelations is the book even few God called ministers will preach and cannot be read carnally nor taken literally. We believe God reveals and helps us understand what we need as we read. Definitely there are a lot of parts in this book and others that are still a mystery and probably always will remain a mystery. These last few verses of Revelations are a good guide as far as removing from or adding to the written word but it all revolves around our faith in God.

Revelation Chapter 22

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
