Christians - Do You Believe The King James Bible

To be the only translation of the hebrew and greek writings that are true?
I see the new translations are different in some places. I think one of the biggest which could be a huge deception is about the mark of the beast.

King James version of Revelations 13:16 16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (in as in a chip)

I believe the King James Bible is the correct one as I worked with a person who helped bring about barcodeing and every bar code has 666 in it.

The newer translations say the mark will be planted on the right hand or on the forehead. (I think of something like a tattoo)

Snopes says no relation between barcodes and 666

Do I believe that Noah found a pair of penguins, a pair of polar bears, and a pair of kangaroos in the Middle East? Not really.

But if you try to love your neighbor as yourself and keep the commandments then you are doing well.

My faith does not teach the literal interpretation of the Bible. The old testament was before Christ was born and the new testament was after Christ lived. Some of the Bible was meant to be history and some was meant to be moral teachings. . Many were traditions and laws that were used that have no bearing on life today. Such as some what is clean and unclean.

Revelation is from the old testament. You would have to have the wisdom of Solomon to really make sense of it. And unless you are fluent in the old languages, there is no way to argue what was originally written and what it meant.

Perhaps you are right. I think you believe with your whole heart you are right. I respect your beliefs and wish you well.I know God loves you.

Worked with a person who help create the barcode and he had said they all have 666 in them.

Snopes is a husband and wife team in their home kitchen answering as best as they can. I do not think they worked with anyone who help create the barcodes.
Q: Who creates the material for this site? (Snopes)

A: With very few exceptions, all of the material on this site is prepared by the same people who operate this site, Barbara and David Mikkelson.

Q: How do I know the information you've presented is accurate?

A: We don't expect anyone to accept us as the ultimate authority on any topic. Having been raised on an intense diet of instruction in King James Bible in one of the staunchest Protestant denominations, and then having been Catholic, I'd say it's good to remember that for all its human faults, the Catholic Church brought the Bible thru the ages long before the King James translation came along.

See the list starting with the Latin Vulgate as Gracie posted.

And about the Old Testament, this is key:
25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

26 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?”

27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

Luke 24 NIV
And regarding the mark of the beast in Revelation 13, it is clearly stated here in the modern Catholic Bible online:
16
It forced all the people, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to be given a stamped image on their right hands or their foreheads,
17
so that no one could buy or sell except one who had the stamped image of the beast’s name or the number that stood for its name.
18
Wisdom is needed here; one who understands can calculate the number of the beast, for it is a number that stands for a person. His number is six hundred and sixty-six.

Catholic Bible Revelation 13
The footnoted cross-references and commentaries at the end of the chapters are interesting, too.

Snopes is recognized as the go to site to substantiate internet claims. Even Annenberg's FactCheck.org agrees that it is a non political unbiased tool, and that they quote it on occasion. People try to discredit Snopes, because it may not agree with their agenda. But, in fact, it is excellent at what it does.

Understanding that the King James Bible opened up all the words of the Bible so everyone new what was being said in the Bible. The protestant religions came about after the words were opened up. (Protesting)

Sophie11 11-19-2014 02:38 PM

If the newer ones say stamped or on the right hand or forehead and the churches are following these, their followers could possibly take the mark of the beast as it is not on but in.

Like it or not, let's not lose sight of the fact that it was man who wrote these bibles,
long after the word of mouth passed through a number of generations.

You know what happens when it goes from one ear to the next mouth, don't you?

Agree that Revelation is a difficult read, but it is not from the Old Testament, unless I misunderstood your comment. It is the last book of the New Testament.
