I don't ever expect to total my car when I leave home, but I still carry auto insurance.
I can understand the concern of those about shooting and having long court battles such as we've seen lately. It's up to those carrying to discipline themselves to not shoot unless their life is at stake. Then if you had to shoot it would still be better to face a jury than have a funeral. In most cases the showing of a firearm when confronted is enough to end the threat.
