Some people use sarcasm and some people use passive aggressive behavior and some people use diversionary tactics when discussing something potentially heated and controversial.
It depends on what you believe and how you perceive things as to whether you think it has humor.
It is very hard on this forum to see faces so as to ascertain a person's current attitude. But after having read what a person thinks and believes over time, you can get a feel for their innate personality.
If you agree with a person's philosophy it is easier to like them and to appreciate their humor. If you don't accept their philosophy or agree with their values and morals and attitudes, there is nothing funny about them. EVER. They just make you discouraged, angry and turned off.
It is sad, that as we get to know each other better, we are more comfortable with some and continually aggravated with others. It seems that politics takes the place of religion as our core intensity as we age.
I am not happy about that, but I see It happening to myself and others. We were better off not knowing them so well...perhaps.
The bottom line is that we all have good things about us. When we disagree we can't see them.
