IRS admits to $6 Billion in Bogus payments

Over $6 Billion paid in error to Child Tax Credits! That's a lot of money and this is only one of their many screw ups. It's your money. You should be outraged. :swear:

I still am not over their political targeting. The IRS. It is supposed to be a lot of bean counters, not a political espionage unit.

What in the world is happening to this country?

AND when something "unpleasant" happens, another news crisis is brought up.

I always wonder....WHY, at this time, is this or that scab picked?

If you control CNN you control the minds of the world it seems. I used to respect that News network.

I know, I just hijacked your thread. Sorry. Back to the IRS.

TheVillageChicken 12-10-2014 08:34 AM

The IRS also sent $43 million in refunds to 29,000 different names at the same address in Atlanta.

fred53 12-10-2014 08:36 AM

Of course I'm outraged(sort of)....but...

what do you expect me to do about it? Getting all worked up never solved anything...it does(in some cases)bring on anxiety and other medical problems.

In lieu of posting here write your congressman.

It's frustrating because we are helpless. We do what they say when they say it.

As another poster said...

Here is the solution to a lot of the problems. Too bad the politicians will never let it happen. It takes power and control away from them.

Too bad everyone didn't listen to Lincoln.

Shoot, once again I didn't get a check.

That would be the best thing that could ever happen in this country. Although it might cost retired people more depending on their tax bracket I am still all in if only we could make it happen.

I've read about this on and off over the years, and agree it is a great idea on the surface... however, as other have said, it will never happen. Can you imagine the unemployement of all the accountants, tax preparers and IRS agents? It would hurt the economy, big time. :22yikes:

Stumble, bumble, dribble and fail. Another example of government workers' incompetence. Same for the system: no responsibility, no accountability, no punishment, no terminations and probably promotions and bonuses to all for being able to hush it up for at least 6 months. And of course, excuses, finger pointing in all directions, and the blame game.
Bring the next boondoggle on.:mmmm:

I sent small dollar amounts to lots of people as rewards and we wrote the software to audit for possible fraud. With the amounts of money the IRS sends out they should have a lot of audit rules in their software that should catch a lot of the fraud.

Worse yet 24% of the EBIT credits were paid in error and the government knew it, knows it and uses it as a redistribution scheme:cold:
