Best EZ Go Dealer?
Is Town and Country Carts best in area for prices? Are there others in the area (or out of state, with cheap of free shipping) with good prices that are also recommended? I'm sure if there are answers on the 2009 EZ Go models, TOTV members have them.
Like a few of you posting here, I'm a first-time cart buyer, and after recently driving/comparing others, I'm down to EZ Go for fit, finish, array of accessories, and especially the power and zippiness of the new 48 volt AC motor model, the RXV. And, like others, I'm impressed with the TOTV discussion of Town and Country sales and service experiences, confirmed by my own visit to the store (twice). My dilemma? Gas or electric? I was very pleased with the quietness and fast pickup of the electric model, which contrasted with the vibration, smell and dullness of the gas model. But, with claims that electric model batteries lose about 10% capacity each year, can't run sustained high speeds for long periods without major battery drain, and even more battery attenuation with extra passengers in the 4 seat model (back seat addition), I'm not sure electric is best for me. I'm interested in hearing from anyone with EZ Go 2009 RXV experience. |
I would be careful purchasing anything from Discount Golf Cart World, especially the "new" yamaha gas carts they've been advertising. We looked into buying one of them but found out the serial numbers were already registered through yamaha with a previous owner. SHADY
Also, when yamaha eventually forces them to stop selling them, you won't be able to have them serviced by the villages golf cars. They are a dealer but DO NOT have to service them once high speed gears are installed. If you are looking at reconditioned club cars, check out grandma and cramped on 441. If you are looking at yamaha, buy from the villages. Quote:

Read my thread...golf cart in for repairs again.
Discount Golf Cart World is at the bottom of the heap IMHO. |
Price -vs- return
In doing my research I'm comparing apples to apples for 2011 Yamaha Gas including tax. TV Golf cars loaded $9032(in house 5 yr warranty plus $75 per year maintenance). At Carts and Clubs in Ocala $9719(in house 5 yr warranty). TNT (mail order) delivered is $7432 (no tax or warranty). Discount Golf Cart World $7671(in house 5 yr warranty). All warranties, I am told, are in house since the high speed gears voids the manufacturer's warranty. I know that DGCW are not listed as new because the dealer cannot get new carts from Yamaha because TV Carts has the franchise. But they are new. How old can they be? They are 2011. Now apples to apples (or as close as I could get) of local dealers DGCW is lowest over TV Carts by $1361. That's a lot of service! Cheaper that Carts and Clubs by $2048. Only the mail order can beat DGCW. Is it really worth it to go to TV Carts? I read on posts that Carts and Clubs was cheaper than TV but... that's not what their price sheet says that I got yesterday. What am I missing?????

mgman - I think The Villages Golf Car Store prices have come down from what they were a year or two ago. Last time we were in there nosing around, their typical new 'loaded' carts were priced a whole lot lower than they used to be. That makes them a whole lot more price competetive with C&C in Ocala.

My whole research is based on the Deluxe package at TV Carts. Got them 2 days ago. Can't believe they are cheaper now. Must have been really high.

Golf Cart Dealers
We purchased a 2008 EZGO from Town and Country and can't say enough
good things about them. We had some problems in the beginning and they were very responsive and were reliable. In fact if you buy from them you can stop by anytime and they will check the batteries, tires, etc. The guys that work there can't be more responsive to your needs. We even had a problem unrelated to the warranty, showed it to them and they fixed it with some help from the manuf. and no charge. Because of their great service I think I would always buy from them as they truly stand by their product and make sure the customer is happy. It is refreshing to see this in todays business. |

We purchased from StaRite Golf Carts in Fruitland Park and can't say enough good things.
There is also a website where you can list your cart for free if you're trying to sell: http://TheGolfCartGuide.com We sold ours on there and then bought from StaRite. |
What does he charge per day / per week for a rental.
|
In season he charges a little more, but $25/per day for 4 seater with 3 day minimum, all his carts have full curtains, etc....I think it was $15 /day for 2 seater. Know he has 1 month min. in season.

Wondering.....is "Discount Golf Cart World" and "Cart World" the same business people are talking about on this thread or are they 2 different business's? If the latter---anyone have any experiences they'd care to share about this one??

AS you proceed East on 466..if you take a left on 441/27 Cart World will be on your right hand side ( less than 1/2 mile). Cart World is an Authorized Club Car Dealer in the Area.
If you proced east on 466 and take a right on 441/27 Discount Golf Cart World will be on your left a couple of miles down the road BEFORE you reach OAKWOOD. If you miss them...just keep driving....you saved money, time and agrevation! |

After checking out Extreme's phone number, it turns out it is a cell phone number. I would like to know if Connection just changed their name to avoid honoring waranties on their custom carts. |
Biker -
I called them for general service on my golf cart and got the same message. They closed their Lady Lake store but their Mt Dora store is still in operation. Extreme is taking over servicing carts in our area for them. I see your dilemma and I would call their Mt Dora location and see what's up with their carts still under warranty. |
I did call there and got the same message.

Help
Help, I'm new to The Villages--what is a TOTV search? Does anyone know Jim Followell's address--I don't see it posted here.
Thanks! |
