Golf cart dealers
Has anyone had any experience with Discount Golf Cart World - on 441 south of Lady Lake. They will build to specs. Says he's been in business 15 years.

I bought 2 carts from them in DEC 2006. "rebuilds"
1 was 2 seater - elec, 2003 Nice sunbrella covers; they threw in a mesh shopping back for back, and it had the usual mirrors & cooler (6pk) other 1 was 4 seater; with beautiful paint job, radio, overhead fan, hi-speed. Problem was the 4 seater wouldn't get me 5 miles before crapping out. They took it back 3 times trying to understand why but never figured it out and I understand they ended up tearing it apart and rebuilding it. IN EXCHANGE they gave me another 4 seater (2004) with hi-speed IQ motor, sunbrella cover (the original 4 seater didn't have any side curtains.). Anyway the 2 cost me $12k. They also offer a 5 year warranty as long as you do their semi-annual maintenance. They have a new young maintenance manager "Berlin" who has taken pretty good care of me. When I've needed light bulbs, as long as I want to make the trip there I've gotten them for free. I cracked a frame around a headlite and it really screws up the aim. He also gave me a new frame (but I have to put it in). When the brakes were 'acting up' on the 2 seater, they took care of it no charge. The batteries must've been pretty cheapo's tho' cuz on the 2 seater I need to replace them already (2 year, 2 months). I only get about 10-15 miles out of a charge. That's going to cost me $639 from Discount Golf Cart World. Personally, right now I'd buy one of the new EZGO RSV's if I only needed 1 cart. I think they're attractive and they're talking 60 miles per charge. Just remember, if you ride an electric wide open all the time that'll reduce the miles

I also forgot to mention that a few months ago the GOLF CART CONNECTION advertised on this site and many members were very pleased with the service. You might want to visit them.

They didn't close.... they changed their name and moved up the road on 441. Draw your own conclusions.

Do yourself a favor - go to Golf Cart Connection. Across from the old WalMart on 27/441 but moving south soon down by Best Buy & Kohl's.

If you are interested in a good used cart call Jim Followell at cell # 317-258-1241 or home 352-259-7525. Jim buys the carts that are traded in at The Villages Golf Cart store as well as many of the other cart stores in the area. To learn more about Jim just do a TOTV search using his last name to see what the people here think of him.
Many people from TOTV use him to rent a cart from but he also sells used ones.

I bought a cart from Discount Carts about 6 months ago and have not had any problems. Just had my first maintenance with them and they came as scheduled. So far, so good!

Bad service at Golf Cart Connection
We have had HORRIBLE experiences with Golf Cart Connection service and recommend you buy your golf cart somewhere else!!! They are SLOW to call you back, SLOW to service your golf cart, and SLOWER even yet once they have your golf cart in the shop. Ours was in for 2 weeks to have batteries replaced (a 1 year old cart), and one month later it has the same problems it did before the batteries were replaced. Repeated phone calls to them are rarely returned.

Golf Cart
I recently bought a cart from Grandpa and Grandmas Village Buggiies. THey are located north of EZ Go. Great carts, great service. Give them a try. Bought refurbished 2005 Club Car totally loaded gas for $5750. It is a beautiful cart and looks brand new, They are super friendly and dependable.
Scott is the owner. Hope this helps. Don Miller Hadley |
