OH BOY!!! Or as you would say Gracie, "Boy Howdy"!!!

Now we will have posts on TOTV of Villagers complaining about bulldogs speeding on their skateboards, making illegal turns, not knowing how to drive in roundabouts, driving with their left blinkers on, shopping at Publix, etc etc etc

Not so nice of a comment

Calling people stupid is rather a harsh comment, don't you think. Many dogs don't do well on a lease, may be one reason they are being pushed around in a stroller...another reason could be medical...why do you care! Just be nice!

Do you think Cesar Milan can do for our complainers what he does for dogs?

Cesar would put a collar around your neck, strap on his funny-looking in-line skates, and make you go running, pulling him behind. No strollers for him!

However... these strollers are nothing new. Been around for over a decade up north. Some little dogs can't walk as far as their owners, who want to walk for their own exercise as well as their pooches'. It's an option, along with putting them in a backpack.

Can't do that with some dogs (see avatar...)

Most people who walk their dogs in a stroller is to get them out in the fresh air when they are physically unable to walk due to arthritis or injury. I have two dogs, one wants to walk miles, my other old girl can only go a short way, so when she is spent, in the stroller she goes. Both dogs get to go on the outing and have fun. I don't think a dog stroller is anyone's first choice but rather a necessity for an aging dog.

Crummybuttons: After 38 posts, I'm wondering if you still think strollers are stupid.

I really believe strollers are more for the human then the adult. I think many just want the attention of pushing around a stroller at the square and have people coming up to talk to them.Watch couple of them last couple of years and their behavior. Seems more of wanting to talk and show off their dogs.

I agree with this. It just occurred to me that some people might think dog owners with strollers are trying to anthropomorphize their pets. I don't believe this is the case. They're not playing Baby In Stroller. They are simply devising a way to get some exercise and have their dog who cannot go long distances along with them.

paulandjean 03-01-2013 07:10 AM

More for the human than the dog.

It is just across the street on 441/27 and it is a lovely place. We have several friends who live there and several of our very wise posters live there too.

Not a complaint. It just reminds me of little girls with their dollies in their strollers. Oh yeah, and lets not forget putting ridiculous costumes on these animals or dancing with them.
