Exclamation Dog Owners: Please Remember Hot Pavement BURNS Paws!

Just as you are all already aware to NEVER leave your dogs in a parked car, please also remember as you walk them down here that the pavement here gets HOT quickly. Especially as we don't have (m)any sidewalks, and the pavement is black, the pavement can easily burn your dogs sensitive paw pads in under a minute.

If you're unsure of the temperature, try walking barefoot on the pavement yourself first. Please take care of our 4-legged friends!

You can buy booties for your dog's paws. Most dogs don't like them at first but they can be trained to acclimate to the idea, and eventually do just fine with them on as long as they fit properly. A responsible pet owner will have the patience to train them to wear them. It can take a few weeks before the pooch is comfortable with them on walks but it's so worth it.

You can also wrap your dog's paws with a cotton sock and that funky self-adhesive tape (called Coban) they use when they draw blood from you at the lab.

After they burn their paws I have seen them take a dog up to the square and right up to the stage with a loud band playing. Seen it last weekend a person trying to command the large dog to lay down and dog looked at them like I cannot hear you and my ears hurt.
