Sure it is already freezing here.
And I could list 100 reasons not to liver here.
But it about $10 per foot.

Wow. I had to chuckle at the red heart tub with carpet in the bathroom. This place could probably be turned into a B&B with some blood, sweat and tears. The character of the home is beautiful.

As one of the poster on the sight stated:
"Huge house but reasonably priced to reflect the condition and limited market appeal for a house of this size and style."
The selling price would be the lowest number one would encounter as an owner of such a home.
Beautiful woodwood work and detail.
Belongs in the southeast USA low country.

Seriously dude, you need to move to TV.
The question becomes, "what is worth to get on with the rest of your life"?

What do you suppose this would be listed for in Los Angeles?

I am certain that many residents of Dixon, Illinois are very offended and frankly I can't blame them. If you can't anything nice about a person place or thing than its better to say nothing at all.:)

My 1st thought was...how much to heat the thing. It's beautiful with a lot of the features un-touched BUT it would have been nice to keep that "look" continuing into the kitchen (anyone watch Rehab Addict?) and bathroom(s)!! What they did might be nice but takes away from the character of the rest of the house. Dixon, IL---isn't that near Chi-town?? Brrrr cold is right!!

A lot more than $140,000 to renovate, especially if all the plumbing and electrical needs to be redone. I would turn it into a historic community of condos. We're still working on our money pit after 5 years. We have to finish it before we can move to TV. We need more hands, time, and money.

Just a bit of info. Ronald Reagan lived in Dixon from the age of 9 thru 22.
So did Earl Prince, inventor of the multi-mixer. (His decendants still live there).
Neither provide a good reason to live in Dixon.

It is beautiful. I too loved the red heart shaped tub. If that carpet could talk, right? :icon_wink:
