A new Church is coming to the Villages. An informational meeting will take place Jan 8, 7:30p.m. at the Dunkin Doughnuts on 441/27.(Between Citizens Bank and Denny's) Everyone is welcome. Doug and Judy Maners would love to meet you.

I think it would help if you told a little more about your new church or about yourselves.

woody when you say they will have the church here rather than the other places you mention....are they building a church? In their home? In the yard?

Building a church is unlikely (in the beginning) as it is a very lengthy approval process after a suitable piece of property is found that can be afforded....let alone the cost of building. Then there is where the revenue comes from to operate.

So where and what is the nature of this church being brought to TV?

I've heard that The Villages wasn't selling anymore property to Churches. But I suppose that could change. You would need at least 15 acres for future growth and the cost, if golf cart accessible, around 3 million for just the land even if you could get it. However, good luck---if God wants another church it will be built.

Just so you all know...you "WILL" have to find property outside of The Villages as they aren't selling to churches anymore. The Methodists and 1st Baptist of Leesburg are exceptions due to early agreements that were grandfathered in. You won't be able to say you're a church and rent a rec center (same reason). It's very difficult to find places on the perimeter (speaking from experience) as they're few/far between and expensive.

Wishing the "planters" best wishes but they need to do their "due diligence" before this kind of endeavor!

One Church - The Villages will hold it's first service on Easter Sunday at 11a.m. at the Comfort Inn on 441 next to Chili's. Everyone is welcome.
