I know you think me crazy right now, but read on this salad is really yummy. Be adventurous & try it.
1 (303 size) can sauerkraut
1/2 C chopped onion
1/2 C diced celery
1/2 C chopped green pepper
3/4 C sugar
1 C sugar
1/2 C vinegar
Combine 1st 5 ingredients in heat-proof, sealable container. Set aside.
Heat & boil sugar and vinegar, until sugar has melted. Pour over the above mixture. Let it cool. Eat when cool or store for up to a week.
Try your own variations. Enjoy.
