View Full Version : An ISIS leader killed

Looks as though the US military has knocked off another senior ISIS leader in Syria. Good going! This was announced by the White House and reported on Fox. I am surprised that Fox did not denounce this as a campaign trick by Democrats.

Good for the special forces that carried out this operation and not one American casualty in hand-to-hand combat.

Why would they? Everyone knows that the Democrats had nothing to do with it.

The White House has to "green light" these missions. It is not carte blanche for Special Forces to go into a country and do a mission like this on their own volition.

Once again, good going!

Seriously. So, the Democrats are going to take credit for this one. That's a stretch even for Liberals.

By the way, thank you Captain Obvious for explaining the 'green light' concept.

That is typical of Liberals. The are always the first to take credit for any military success and always the first to denigrate the military at every opportunity. Go figure.

Go back and read his post. He said "Good Going" to the Special Forces. No one was denigrating the military at all. He was taking objection to the foolish statement some said about the Democrats having nothing to do with this.

The military did the intel to find the ISIS leader, relayed the info to the White House, got the green light from the White House, and successfully performed the mission. Good Going!

What is your problem with that?

We'll have to wait for all the details to be released to find out if this operation was authorized by President McCain or President Romney.

BTW: To get a chance to authorize these military operations, you must first win a presidential election.

hahahahahahohohohohohehehehehe

Just as I would have expected from a Liberal.

Ok, let's start over on this thread ...

The US intelligence community and military collaborated to take out some bonafide bad guys ... I love it.

Obama gets credit for giving the green light.

This should really not be political per se ... radical Islam will kill a liberal or conservative just as dead ... equal opportunity terrorism so we all support it when a bad guy is vaporized.

Does that sound reasonable to everyone??

Why don't you go back and read the OP's post. He/she injected politics into the original post not me.

As the poster correctly stated , the DEMOCRATS had nothing to do with the mission. The President, personally gave the 'green light' for the mission, NOT the DEMOCRATS. So, why should the Democrats (collectively, which was implied by the OP) be given credit?

Someone explain how something good can happen for this country and the first comment on here is almost 100% a political advertisement with a "shot" at Fox news ?

What is wrong with people ?

Some people just can't pass up an opportunity (contrived or otherwise) to take a shot at Fox News. It really says a lot about them doesn't it?

Isn't the point here that we removed one more ISIS leader from doing harm to innocents?

does a real leader say "I"was successful in eliminating............."or does a leader say we accomplished this objective?

It is sad the number of people who seem not to get pass the minutiae?

Go to whitehouse.gov and read the statement of the successful operation. Nowhere does it say "I", it states the fact that the President authorized the operation and that "we" are proud of the troops who took part. Sounds good to me. Sound good to you?

I, for sure am happy, as are almost all Americans.

Our OP, now...that is a different story. He/she, and cohorts need someone to debase, and a political slant, or it just does not work.

Let us all hope the OP is a real small minority.

Sad thing is that this subject should not be in any political forum, but because of people like this OP (and for one time I am glad I do not know who it was) it is relegated as such.

Those like the OP need to continually jab at the opposition for one reason only.
They know they have an audience to bait.
They take enjoyment only in the bait/anagonize aspect only.
They are emboldened and inspired to action only because of their anonymity as "guest".

Thank God:

>they are clearly in the minority.
>they do not act/behave/talk/disrespect in this manner in person.

Whomever this poster is, has got to be a friend of the OP. UNABLE, TOTALLY A CRIPPLE to have any intelligent conversation without debasing someone who does not agree with them. ALL POLITICS....ALL UNAMERICAN..no matter the party.

I might also correct you.......the GOP did NOT spend all their time on Iraq...THE MEDIA SPENT ALL THEIR TIME ON IRAQ......and the GOP unlike other candidates simply responded.

WOW.....sort of scary when you read people posting like this.

My post is not a defense of anyone...not needed, simply trying to point out a mental cripple when I see it.

Oh sure, blame the Fox host for asking Jeb Bush "knowing what we know now, would you have gone to war in Iraq"? And Jeb replying yes, I would. That was the first of several different answers he gave throughout the week. Just what this country needs, a strong decisive leader.

Your lack of reading and comprehension skills is also staggering. The Kelly interview was one evening....the accusation referred to an entire week.

They should have used Hilary Clintons quote "what difference at this point does it make", but they didn't.

How do supposedly normal human beings become so jaded, partisan, and at the same time totally uninformed ?

The Kelly interview was one evening, then the next day he didn't understand the question, then the next day was another answer, and on and on and on for five straight days, with five different answers.

Hillary Clinton's quote was about Benghazi, not Iraq. Hillary said in her book that her Iraq vote was a mistake, and it cost her the election in 2008.

Hillary Clinton's Benghazi answer before the Senate intelligence Committee should be given in context. -- "Clinton: With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d they go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator."

I've seen this brought up before on this forum and IMO, in context or out of context, it was still an ignorant thing to say considering the seriousness of the issue -very unprofessional and certainly very un-Presidential. It comes across as arrogant and uncaring when addressed in the manner which she chose. When I watched that whole scenario in context, it reminded me of someone who struggles to maintain composure under pressure. It does not make me feel good to think about someone with a demeanor like that running our country with the perils that we face today.

The reason it matters is because of the narrative put forth by the State Department, which was a lie. Just about any sane persons realized that the attack was not about the video, and yet the lie continued to be told over and over.

That's what got me ... the State Dept and rest of the Admin had to assume a huge number of Americans' were oblivious and ignorant to enable them to sell this TOTAL bs story and have it believed. Guess what ... it worked.

Gosh, if we could just get a congressional committee to investigate this Benghazi matter. Oh wait, there have been eight congressional committee investigations so far and guess what? They all said the same thing that the incident happened just as reported by the White House. And these investigations were all conducted by the Republican House of Representatives.

But wait, there's more. Congressman Trey Gowdy is still investigating with his special investigative committee which will, surprise surprise, not be completed until mid-2016.

This incident has been investigated more than 9/11 and the Iraq war put together, which resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths and trillions of dollars spent, compared to four deaths, as tragic as they were.

Americans are fully aware of what happened and will make their opinions known on election day 2016, but by all means keep investigating, if this is the best you got.

Yep, Hillary has them running scared! :pepper2:

Too bad that the Congressional Republicans cannot use their talents for anything useful.

It is funny - in a pitiful way - that the polls show a complete lack of respect for the Republicans in Congress. Something like 8 percent approval rating.

Another mis-statement, re-statement to facilitate a made up point.......words, party lie-ne ....... The low ratings are and have been for congress' performance.......not one party or another.
Too much kook aide.......again.

"Running scared".........now that there is what's funny!:1rotfl: But back to the Benghazi story, you do know that they outright lied, right? Sometimes I wonder how some can totally overlook the facts of a story and just proceed with half-truths.

Who outright lied? How about some background links to support your allegations? Have you read the Congressional Intelligence Committee report that backs up everything the White House claims happened?

Mmmm............it had nothing to do with protesters and everything to do with a planned attack on our embassy. Why were they claiming it was anything other than that at the beginning? Oh right, maybe just outright incompetence.......I can accept that explanation.

You need to get past the same old tired answers and political crapola.

The story put out for Benghazi regarding the "video made them do it" was OBVIOUSLY crafted to appeal to the ignorant, gullible and hopelessly stupid and it worked great ... because a lot of people in this country qualify. Think pop culture, academic hothouses and a certain political party.

The issue of character and foreign policy competence is becoming much more life and death serious, especially with the fall of Ramadi.

Surely you don't consider Hillary Clinton's tenure at the State Department as a success? It was a total disaster. Failures in Benghazi Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Iran, the Ukraine, and the failed Russian reset just to name a few.
