Realize Duvall is just above 466a
Any grocery shopping, gas stations, restaurants etc on 466A - how far
How far (golf cart vs car) from Lake Sumter Marqet Square
How far from Southern Trace

Also any info on local pools/centers appreciated

Lastly - does Duvall have own website or social groups

Hi, yes Duval has all of the above. We have a beautiful shopping center, great new Publix, Walgreens, etc. The Colony Plaza has many stores and yes, now a gas station. And more keep opening. The Colony Rec Center is beautiful and there is also Truman Rec Center. Duval has it's own beautiful pool, but really you can use any pool in the area. Havana Country Club is not open yet, but shortly, and promises to be one of the best. Same people that run Kane Garden, so the food will be great. They will also have a pool.

Only 10 mins to LSL by golf cart. I'm there all the time. I'll tell you, I think it's a wonderful area. Everything is accessable. And they are building out from here, so we'll be centrally located between LSL and Brownwood (The new Market Square).

Yes, social clubs abound. I don't have the links. Another member dickY has them and I'll ask him to post them or you can pm him. A very sweet man. I would say to Spanish Springs by golf cart, it takes us about 20 min. I find everything is very very accessible.

I think you would love Duval. I know I do. :welcome:

Colony Plaza is very new been open for under a year. In Colony Plaza there is Publix, Beef O'brady's, a Chinese Restaurant, Cici's Pizza, gas station, and liquor store.. Soon the restaurant at Havana Country Club will open. Also the restaurants at Cane Garden & Mallory Hill are a short golf car ride away.

Lake Sumter landing is a 15 minute golf car ride away give or take few minutes a few less by car.

Duval has its own neighborhood pool.

Chels, you've painted a great picture of the Duval. Mr. Peachie and I love it for all of the reasons you've mentioned and an earlier posting indicated a new rec center is being planned for the corner of Buena Vista and Odell Circle. We love The Village of Duval too!

Here are some web sites specific to Duval:

http://villageofduval.googlepages.com/
http://www.duvalsocialclub.com/
http://www.freewebs.com/hollyhillvillas/

There is another social club - Hollyberry Social Club - http://tvbeer.com/hollyberry.htm.
There are 4 executive courses, Sandhill, Turtle Mound, Truman, and Roosevelt that are five or less minutes away and the Havana Country Club three Championship 9s are 5 minutes away.

I just love hearing about how great Duval village is. I am looking for forward to coming down and visiting in October with friends for a week. However, next year my sister and I will be retired and coming down longer. I noticed that they are not offering any homes in Duval, just the new villages. I guess we are all "filled" up! Thank you everyone for all of the great information. I envy all that are living there now. "Soon Grasshopper"!! Janet

Has any one in Duval driven to Spanish Springs in an Electric golf cart on a single charge (and return)?? I am in SL a lot but have been afraid to venture further

I was one of the "Pioneers" of Duval when the surroundings looked like one vast desert!!!I haven't gotten to know many of the other residents since I'm older/single/out of town a lot. I let my grandchildren think I dance at the square every nite.

Everyone I've met in Duval has been great! I couldn't ask for betteer freinds.

First... Duval is great. We have a used 2005 electric cart... we take it from Duval to Lopez, golf 18 holes, buzz over to Spanish Springs and then back to Duval... no problemmo!

I know that Duval is a great area or why would such great people as Chelsea and Peachie chose it. We may have to sell in Hadley and move to Duval.

Thanks for the info. There was a Mexican restaurant which closed and is being replaced by a Bagel shop.

I go to SS often in my electric golf cart, about 25 minutes one way with no problem. I also go to the Wellness Center 3 time a week at the end of Morse Blvd (7.3 miles) with no problems, still plenty og charge left.

I am so glad I came upon this post, been up for hours checking out last minute details before my move next week. Duval looks like a great place! I am sure all of the villages are too. I will be renting a CYV in Duval starting 10/1 till I find my home in TV, Duval looks like a fun place with wonderful neighbors. The websites provided looks like paradise! :pepper2:

Morning Chelsea, Peachie, Dicky & all other Duval neighbors - do any of you live on Chateau Way or near it? I visited TV in mid August but never had a chance to see the Duval neighborhood. I am interested in a Villa that is for sale on Chateau Way. A realtor has sent me several pics, but not knowing the area - like what's across the street, what's around the corner etc. makes me unsure. Would love to hear from you guys. Please pm me!

Many thanks,
Betty

They are still building in Duval, specifically the area directly across Odell Circle from the postal station/pool. I know many of the lots are sold and awaiting construction for many reasons, but that's a pretty big area twixt there and where the next village begins. 'Spect there might be some unsolds.

Chateau Way is in the Allendale Villas neighborhood consisting of courtyard villas in the southeast corner of Duval. It borders on the Truman executive golf course. It's not far from the Duval postal area and pool.

Thanks Dicky! Are you close to that area? I believe you live in Duval, is that right? I will be flying in on 10/03 and if that Villa is still available, I want to see it. I will be looking for my new home and I am hot to trot!

Opulence...
We live on Chateau Way...and we love it. We moved into a CYV in April and we are close to everything yet far enough away that we do not hear traffic etc. Groceries, pool and all the fun stuff are only minutes away. All the neighbors have been great.
