....on SR44 in front of Wendy's; motorcycle and a Surburban. We drove thru going to Lake Panasoffkee and the body of the motorcyclist was covered up. It was still laying there a little over an hour and a half later when we came back thru. Horrible.

I am so sad to hear this. It puts all other foolishness that raise our blood pressure into perspective.

I drove past it, just after noon. The police were routing traffic around the scene. It was a very chilling scene.

That's the second m/c vehicle wreck I've seen at that same place. 1st was minor, today, just horrific.

For me it's a case of having to many "horrible" things happening close to home without worrying about folks I just don't know...sure it's sad...someone's going through a horrible loss...blah, blah, blah...yes some will say I lack heart and empathy...actually I have to much and think posting this on line takes away from living life to the fullest...and no I don't have to be reminded how short life is...those that do need to be reminded rarely stay so for very long...when someone dies on Mt. Everest it's to bad, but their choice to take the chance knowing the odds are greater than staying home...when those die on a motorcycle it's also just as sad, but they made a choice that said it's fun to ride with the wind in your hair knowing that if someone else made a mistake in their vehicle they'd likely end up getting the worst of it...
Folks pass on each and every day by the millions...some of old age...some of rare disease...some because of the ignorance of others...it's the hazard of being alive...so notice the accident, feel for those who lose but for goodness sake stop trying to draw us into your morbid sadness...

Thoughts and prayers for a completely unknown family? How do you do that?
An even worse accident on I-75 near Leessburg exit this AM with 3 fatals including an infant. Is there a mileage limit from the Villages for "thoughts and prayers" for the unknown or does a poster have to see the accident or aftermath to qualify.
Just wondering.

Some people must live a sad existence. To not care about people you don't know is pretty pathetic in my book. "All lives matter."

What a bunch of uncaring, old geezers. It is obvious you don't care for anyone but yourselves. You think you are so insightful and funny, but your posts are filled with insensitive invective.

Most of us had our mouths hanging open in disbelief when reading a couple of posts. Please don't lump us together.

Whoa. These kinds of remarks aren't at all in the same vein as the original post or the sincere thoughts that many have posted. In Ohio where I am from, it is not unusual for drivers to pull over when a hearse passes. I believe we don't have to know a person to respect his passing.

The number 1 cause of motorcycle accidents in this country is people making a left turn in front of a motorcycle going straight ahead. If people would only look then look again and make sure that nothing is coming it would save many lives. Motorcycles are harder to see and even those with loud pipes can't be heard in front of them coming toward you.
Please look twice and maybe save a life.

And bicycles are to be included in the same category. Especially the low to the ground recumbent bikes. They scare the dickens out of me.

Did not know that and I will keep it in mind. The sight line is harder on the left so I always look twice for a car but a bike could be easy to miss. Although I always use my turn signal a good distance before I turn.

So create a sympathy thread. Lump all the thoughts and prayers for the unknown persons, pets etc in one thread and continue the thoughts and prayers with the rest of the crowd. That way you will all feel better and accomplish exactly nothing other than some level of personal satisfaction.
Frankly, the "thoughts and prayers" comment has as much meaning as the "have a nice day" throw away we get 10 times a day whenever we buy something.
And for all of you who have such concerns for your fellow man, slide over to the political thread and see how much sympathy there is for the refugees in Europe fleeing from places like Syria where 320,000 people have been killed. Most of the "thoughts" from your TOTV friends aren't very friendly.

The UN sends more than 700 of every 1000 refugees it relocates to the US. I fail to understand why you are so negative.
