I got to wondering how these many and oft posted hot button issues have affected my day-to-day life. I examined each one I could recall, dog poop, golf cart speeding, golf cart stop sign running, path striping, coyotes, gators, the various issues with The Sharon, the wall, under 55s living here, POA, bad neighbors, Winn-Dixie being too common for us...ditto Walmart, we need Costco, we need Trader Joes, VHA, ball hawkers trespassing, rude shoppers, etc. After burning many brain cells in this effort, I realized that there are two topics that have affected me. I do allot more time for travel and eat out less during snowbird season and I have thus far refrained from having sex on the square.

Good man.

So you have not heard of the coyote who had sex on the Square after pooping in front of a wall of line dancers? This was after a gator (U of FL alumnus) coming from the direction of Winn-Dixie and speeding in a golf cart forgot to stop then ran the stop light continuing past Honest John's turning into Barnes & Noble to get to the book signing of a rather famous under 55 year old Villager who had been the first Villager to have sex on the Square? That's the drink from Red Sauce, not the actual deed! Think that drink is with two cherries.

Thing is, it's pretty much normal weather for this part of the world. Not climate change weather.

One of my hot topics is how much better and cheaper everything is back home. Yes, I think, but usually don't say, then go back. Why leave a place that has the best (Fill in the blank) to suffer here?

Weather..the thing we talk the most about, but can do the least about. I'd think a lot of North-easterners are in TV because it is cheaper..tax wise for sure. Of courseFlorida has no income tax..but that matters not to me as I have no income

I think people are more prone to express their polarizations when communicating via keyboard than when face-to-face.

I believe the pivotal talking points evolve around "whose ox is gored".
If you do not own a dog but find dog poop in your yard every day then you are likely to vent on TOTV etc.
Blogs by their nature draw a myraid of conversation and topics. The nice thing about them is you can ignore any topic or poster you desire. Whether or not its political point, a personal point of view a person place or thing to which or whom you disagree, taking it in stride is best . I like this forum precisely because its in written form, because a poster can remain anonymous and thus feel comfortable to freely express themselves. and because it provides an opportunity to many and various viewpoints.
I do not believe most people want to remain anonymous so they can write what they would not dare say to one's face. In fact in our society we tend to refrain from telling someone the truth to their face so as to spare them embarassment and shame. We refer to it as being polite.
Yes we do have trolls and in my view the best treatment for that is ignoring them and thus preventing them a forum in which to spew their venom
