Trump reiterated his idea of forcibly rounding up all illegal immigrants in the USA and sending them away. He never said where they would be sent or how they would be sent.
This is a hare brained idea that would never work - even according to Bill O'Reilly.
Cruz also went with the idea of rounding up all illegals and shipping them off to somewhere that was never named nor by what method.
Two candidates with just a campaign promise that has not a snowball's chanceof ever happening.
Americans deserve better than Cruz, Trump, Carson, Fiorina, or Rubio.
Kasich looks the most rational choice.

So if we assume they would complete/build the wall.
That they begin enforcing the law and attempt to eliminate illegal entry.
That would send the message that we mean business.
Once these are either in place or on the way as part of a plan that will get it done, talking about going after the illegals already here adds to the resolve being placed on no illegals to be tolerated....enforce the laws.
Maybe they are smart enough to not say how or where because they know there will be some common sense applied to application of the law to those already here. And there will be varying categories of them requiring possible different solutions. However the common denominator will be they have to do something to get from where they are to being LEGAL!!!!
So I would not be so quick to jump to conclusion they literally mean herd 'em up and round 'em up! Some might think in a narrow chanel and pursue it that way.
What they are doing in communicating NO MORE ILLEGALS ALLOWED!
Why should they compromise up front....they have the majority on their side to eliminate illgal immigration. That the laws of the land will be enforced. The exceptions, if any, will come as part of an overall plan.
The clamour to round 'em up is nothing but a scare tactic. One for the illegals. The other for the opposition to hope to gather more votes.
So how about a discussion of the merits of eliminating illegal immigration?

Round up the illegals is not impossible. Only liberal socialists and liberal Republicans think it's too hard. IF they think it is impossible then they are not my candidate. I can understand liberals saying it's impossible, because everything is impossible for them. That's why they are so needy; they're lazy. We have had presidents in the past that have rounded them up and deported them. There are several ways of accomplishing this feat.
One way is to start charging a jailing anyone that knowingly hires illegals. No jobs, the illegals either starve of return home. Free one way bus vouchers could be offered to any illegals that turn themselves in for voluntary deportation. Laws would be enforced that prohibited any educational institution from allowing enrollment of illegals. No state would be allowed to issue drivers licenses. All of these could be instituted and force a stop to illegal migration.
And the wall would assist future invasion of the illegals.
Liberals would insist that this would be easy, if it was their idea. But, it is hard to build a voter base once the ignorant become educated and see that liberals insist on enslaving the lower class. Liberals figure it will take a while for illegals to become educated to our ways, so they would have their voter base for a while longer.

Give all of us your knowledge on the number of illegal immigrants who vote in our Federal elections. To make a statement like you did in your post, you have to have the figures or it would make you a liar - and you certainly are not a liar.
Give us those figures so we all can be as knowledgable as you.

Your question was not aimed at me, but just to maybe add to the conversation...the last estimate I saw was about 3/4 million or so by this group....CCES (http://projects.iq.harvard.edu/cces/home).
That is done very unscientific, and it is not a number I would quote.
I frankly think it is much larger.
What might stop an illegal immigrant in a state with no voter or registration control ? All they need to do is sign a statement and nothing more. In a state with ID laws, it is a bit more difficult, but we all know about the phony drivers liscenses that keep turning up.
Not that difficult, and once we make everything fron registration to voting on line, all bets are off.
Heck, the Chinese government, the Iranians have already hacked us. Do you really think that they do not have the capability to commit fraud from afar ?

Tell you what, you start a photo voter ID program and then we can tell if anyone is voting illegally, OK?
I imagine that you might want to bone up on the latest current events regarding how this administration is attempting to circumvent congress in making immigration law by EO, and about how you liberals wish to give them all the benefits of a citizen, such as drivers license, health care insurance, social security, etc. Do a bit of reading before making snarky replies....or not. I'm not a liberal so I won't hold you to PC. Non-PC is sometimes entertaining. Of course, only conservatives are held to the rule of PC.

I am struck by the rush to take Trump so literally. I am certainly not a fan of Trump, but what other promises have been made by both parties that have been taken so literally.
Recall this one.....This is a little bit of a news item from 2009
"President Barack Obama seems to leave little room for doubt when he promises that his health care plan will let people keep the coverage they have. His vow sounds reassuring and gets applause, but no president could guarantee such a pledge."
Promises: Obama's Health Plan Guarantee - Politics - CBN News - Christian News 24-7 - CBN.com (http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/politics/2009/June/Promises-Promises-Obamas-Health-Plan-Guarantee/)
These "promises" cannot be taken literally at all. In many cases, the promises exceed the power of the presidency.
Instead the focus should be on the leadership skills, general concepts, and ability to work with both parties.
If we are going to spend time discussing every promise or every statement, we will be wasting all our time. Each of them DO however give us a flavor of what that candidate thinks on many issues.

Bottom line key word (ILLEGAL) I have no problem with legal immigration. I think everyone living in TV would be surprised how many illegals are in this area. No I dont have a number but before I quit working this year there were many working at a hotel here in The Villages. And you would be surprised how they got around the legal system.

I would like to hear Rubio, Cruz, etc. tell us what they think is fair about simply fining and requiring that the illegals learn English that are here and have been for years while there are so many working their butts off to try and enter LEGALLY. That has been Trump's stand on immigration and there are many legally here that agree with him and support his policy. Not only does the ILLEGAL hiring of the illegals impact American jobs, but legal immigrant jobs as well. People entering legally must learn English as one of their requirements.
I don't think anyone, including Trump, is advocating shipping them off to some island(s) in the middle of nowhere. Just send them back home instead of letting them stay here, taking care of them, all the while they send money back home. How can that possibly help or contribute to this country's economy?
It is my understanding is that amnesty is when someone ASKS our federal government for asylum and entry into this country. Am I missing something?
Did Rubio and Cruz parents come here legally? Did they go through the process or ask permission to be granted entry?
I don't know of anyone who is against LEGAL immigration......just the illegal sneaks that come in and then this country takes from our own seniors, etc., and well as from those who have come in legally, to take care of them. Interpreters should be used for clarification ONLY....not primary communication.

There is one thing that the far right knows for sure everything that they say is undisputable. I'm smart despite all the evidence to the contrary, and you are stupid. That goes without saying, but you are so stupid that I have to say it over and over until it sinks in.
You might want to check the number of illegals Obama has deported.
The wall! "Fixed fortifications are monuments to the stupidity of man." George Patton. This one is going to be so pretty that Mexicans will stand there in awe, and turn around and go home knowing that they in the presence of greatness. This will be North America's version of the Wailing Wall.
Jail people that hire illegals? Are jails aren't full enough of non violent offenders, so we have to add thousands more?
Deport them all. A simple solution for simple minded people of which there is an abundant supply in the Republican party. There was a bipartisan plan to address the illegal immigration problem, but the Republicans saw no short term political gain for them, so it never hit the floor for a vote.

I am not sure why this post is so hateful, nor do I understand the mention of a number deported by Obama.
This is not a nice post, and is terribly political.
The reason for the opposition to the senate immigration bill is well documented so many times on here I would hope that this person might do some reading because it has been discussed and explained over and over.
This is a very hateful post aimed at someone, but I can never get past why in 2009 and 2010 when the Democrats controlled the WH, the Senate, and the House and not even an attempt at doing anything (even though clearly promised) and now someone is calling the Republican party "simple minded" and "stupid"
Why such a hateful tone ?
I would love to discuss this but not with someone so consumed with hate.

Immigration is being used...simple, period.
NOBODY on either side opposes legal immigration.
NOBODY on either side is against some sort of immigration law.
EVERYONE is afraid to do anything. Had the democrats made an attempt at securing the border and then engaging the Republicans we might have had a bill. Until that happens...securing the border, then being honest with each other, there will never be any comprehensive law passed.
Come on folks...we have cities that do not have to obey the law....we admittely have illegals gaming all our systems and flowing freely in and out of the country while we dance and talk.

Dear Guests: IMHO it is physically possible to round up the majority of illegal immigrants. If you recall they created camps for those who emigrated here legally and whose homelands were at war with us in the 1940's. It would be a bit more difficult because many crossed over the border and where handed driver licenses. it would also be more difficult with 300 sanctuary cities.
The issue really rests as to 1) do the American people have the will to exercise mass deportation 2) the after effects of conducting such an exercise.
We are in this mess thanks to those politicians and business people who for political/monetary gain ignored the laws of this nation.
I worked the I-9 employment program in the 1980's and in order for a person to get hired they needed several types of ID. Clearly many industries ignored the I-9 program so they could hire low wage laborers.
As a general statement I believe most workers coming from the Americas are hard working decent people but coming through a back door hurts this nation.
Whether some like it or not assimilation and proper vetting are essential for a nation to survive. People have to understand and obey the laws because we are a nation which rules by laws and not to be ruled by men . A nation without borders is no longer a nation and wealthy men can easily make claim over their staked out fiefdoms
Rule of law is what separates and makes this the greatest nation on earth and every time I hear a call for internationalism I want to vomit. Listen to whom makes those calls Soros Obama, United Nations.
I certainly do not abide isolationism but I'll be darned if I want to give up nationalism and my identification as a citizen of these United States.
Personal Best Regards:

Donald Trump says he will have a "special deportation force" to seek out, capture, imprison and deport all 11 million illegals. First, doesn't that sound quite a bit like the SS Storm Troopers? Secondly, bull hockey on ever getting that done. Just more hot air from Trump.

It is not a hateful tone. It is just giving Republicans here a dose of their own medicine. If you are going to dish it out on a constant basis, you have to expect occasionally to get it in return. In the real world, opposition isn't define as hate. In the Republican world, apparently it is.
The reason the Senate immigration bill was never voted on has not been discussed here in detail. If the House Republicans were so sure that it was a bad bill, why wasn't it never voted on? Why, because of the Hastert rule! For the party that always points to the Constitution for everything, where in the Constitution is the Hastert rule?
Concerning 2009 and 2010, McConnell filibustered just about everything. Obama did come in with promises. Hope and Change! It certainly did change, and it wasn't for the better. The Republicans saw to that, and now they want to walk away from everything they did to get control of both Houses of Congress. It doesn't work that way.

Too many are taking what was said literally perhaps because it fits arguments they prefer to be in.
What needs to be recognized, forgetting the subject matter, is vote positioning/garnering/buying/persuading/etc.
How about all the phony promises made by Obama that never transpired.....which he never intended to fulfill? And 7 years later after 6 years of a lot of talk and still no fulfillment....he is still just talking.
So why cherry pick the opposition for promise legitimacy/do-ability/reality?
Well we know first off just because it is the opposition.
The first signal sent by Trump to ship 'em all out was obviously well recieved as his polling continued to rise and has remained with his view of immigration well known. Quite a bit of voter preference feedback therein!!!!!
He or anybody else who gets elected excluding Clinton has it made. All the have to do is a few simple things like close the border. Enforce the immigration laws of the land. and they will be head and shoulders ahead of Obama's policy of doing nothing; not enforcing the laws; and allowing as many to come in anyway they want with no authentican.
Some are missing the point when dwelling on the reality of round 'em up and ship 'em out.
We the people want illegal immigration ended.
We the people want the immigration laws enforced.
We the people are willing to contribute to a finish the wall campaign.
We the people want to get America back to being America!

Do you believe that the landscapers, mowers, trimmers, and maintainence workers here in The Villages are all legal? Who would do that work if they left?
Who would do the work the 11 million do? Prices would climb as labor got more expensive. Economies in some towns would dry up completely.

Many of the currently unemployed would do these jobs if the government would end the entitlements that allow them to sit at home and collect taxpayer money for doing nothing.

You certainly are not presenting that the 11 million is only made up of day laborers and workers who do jobs we don't do anymore.
Get the folks who are collecting unemployment to do the work.
Put the freeloaders who get government subsistence with no more effort tha going to the mail box.

Very funny! Liberals claiming that we would lose the cheap labor if we lose the illegals. On the other hand, Liberals want to make these same cheap labor employees into U.S. citizens. Do you really think that the cheap labor would continue once they are legal? Come on, use your head.
Now, lets add something else to the equation. Liberals talk about cheap labor on one hand while on the other hand they are talking about/insisting on a raise in minimum wages. Now, will that incorporate their so-called cheap labor force also?
You liberals just crack me up.......:a20:

Who cares what it sounds like to a liberal. It's a fact that if anything is to get done in this country, it is the conservatives that must do the dirty work. I have no problem with deporting 11 million illegals/criminals. As a matter of fact, deport Hilary along with them. She is also a criminal.
Put me in charge of deportation and I will have the country free of illegals in no more than five years. As a matter of fact, enforce the immigration laws and charge anyone hiring an illegal and most of the illegals will go home on their own.
Only liberals and RINOs think it can't be done. It would not be difficult at all.

It's quite obvious that it is you that knows nothing of what you speak.
There is a record amount of folks that gave up looking for a job. There is a record number of folks still on food stamps. The poverty level is at a record high.
A study was done a few years ago regarding what it would cost the average American house hold in produce IF illegals were deported or legalized. The finding was that produce would cost the average household an additional $8 per year. Now, this study was done several years ago, but I doubt it would go up much more today.
So, like the accusation of the Republican war on women, etc, etc, etc, making this illegal immigration thing an impossible task is just a liberal myth.

You are right....we can live without them. Looks like Albuquerque, NM, just may be getting a handle on some of this by being a little resourceful. I was reading where the city goes down to the unemployment office on weekday mornings and offers jobs around the city such as small landscaping (picking up trash in parks, parking lots, weeding common areas, and I forgot what other jobs), paying them $9.00 an hour for 5-1/2 hours per day. It's working, so apparently these people do WANT to work.
Why do ideas like this need to be limited to just a city or cities? Why would it not work in other sectors as well? One of my old bosses had some farm land, in addition to his primary business, and got his labor the same way. Not only were they paid, but fed and housed as well. I kept his books and always made sure I went to the farm at mealtime when I had farm business for him to do. His wife was an awesome cook! Not only was he a self-made millionaire, but his entire family knew what work was all about.
Get rid of all the encumbrances on businesses and they might well do the same. Not everyone has to make top dollar to start. They're called "entry-level" positions for a reason. That could translate to a win-win. People who have lost jobs through no fault of their own could be trained for those jobs.
Are these overnight solutions? Absolutely not. BUT, you have to start somewhere and saying keeping illegals is the answer is NOT the answer.
ILLEGAL is the operative word here. There are plenty of people of many different countries doing it the right way because that's the stuff they're made of. There was a swearing in ceremony on local TV not that long ago for a group of at least 40-something that had finished the process and were our newest citizens. To those, we should say, "Welcome"...and not the others who have circumvented the system for years being sent to the front of the line.

Your old boss had a good idea to use day laborers. It gives them some money and he gets cheap labor without having to do witholding or taxes.
The Albuquerque idea is good. I read the articles and it said the plan was to take panhandlers off the streets. It did not say anything about having to be a legal resident or citizen.
