We are having company for thanksgiving and don't want to cook. We'd like to eat in. So, my question is do you have a recommendation, good or bad, for preordered dinner? I'm thinking fresh market, publix or another venues... thanks for the help.

How about Bob Evans. They used to put together a nice Thanksgiving package. Maybe someone who has had it will speak up. You do have to order in advance.

If you do Fresh Market be aware that "warming" requires 2-21/2 hours cooking before serving. Rest of dinner was just great.

Bob Evans or Fresh Market both offer interesting selections. But of course you have to order ahead.

A few years back we were in a spot and got the entire works from Wegmans. My wife loved the meal...That says it all. It was great!

I'm getting mine from Fresh Market as I did last year. I loved it when Red Sauce provided Thannksging Dinner Catering, but alas, no more. It's a great dinner for small group like my little family. Only six of us. I like to be at home with the family and have private time. Better than a restaurant for me.

For the past two Thanksgivings, Bob Evans has been my choice. Really good. Boneless Turkey Breast (Or Ham), bread and celery dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet corn, green beans with ham, cranberry relish, gravy, rolls, pumpkin pie (the best I have every eaten) with whipped topping. 2 sizes
serve 4 is 49.99. serve 8 is 79.99. (with the 8 you also get their pumpkin bread loaf) First year there were 4 of us-- so I ordered the serve 4---had lots of leftovers. Last year I had 10 people for dinner so I ordered 2 of the large ones----so much food. Delicious. You pick it up the day before---

Thanks for the ideas. Just curious, anyone try Publix?

Yes, I did last year. I didn't like it at all. My guests thought it was okay but maybe they were just being polite. I wouldn't recommend them.

We tried them a couple of times a few years ago. The turkey was very good but didn't care for the cornbread dressing. It was a little on the wet side and not much flavor. The other sides were okay. I'm a big fan of Publix but won't recommend their Thanksgiving dinner.

We did Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving when we were in TV a couple of years ago. It was very good.

Publix does a nice dinner and you can pick it up quickly in the deli.
TooJays and Cody's also do takeout for Thanksgiving.

Hum, can't believe all the top drawer stores I observed on my visit and no Wegman's. Better get on the ball and contact someone and do something quickly maybe the store could be built in time for Christmas.
My bad....Excuuuuuuussssseeee me.

WOW, that's only $6.25 per person. I was at Mimi's in Ocala last week and and they advertised $89.95 for turkey and all the side dishes for 8 to 10 people. I'm researching for next year when I expect to have about 10. I'll keep Cody's in mind.
I have never had thanksgiving I didn't cook and am not sure I want to go that route.

I know what you mean. But Cody's sounds mighty tempting. Especially if you add a couple more side dishes that are traditional. Is the ham a ham roll? I know I'm getting fussy for six bucks/person.
