How do these cards work? Types of stores? Are they a type of fundraiser for the school?

Yes, it's a fundraiser done through the charter school. There are several restaurants & businesses that offer discounts. A lot of them are 10%. You can use it every time you go. All the businesses are listed right on the card and state what the discount is. The card is about 8 by 4 inches. A new one comes out every year in August.

The cards cost $10. Take a look at the vendors on the card because many do vary from year to year. Some offer a small discount, some a free soft drink, etc. Nothing big, but we always recoup the cost in a few visits. Most people I know fold it in half and keep it handy.

Do they sell out of these cards? I might be out of town week of August 1st. Wish you could buy them online, would not mind paying a mailing fee.

I bought mine last year at the "Put Your Name On It" embriodery shop on La Plaza Grande (to the right of Publix). They are well worth the purchase..."if" you remember to use it!

Well worth it. 10% off Subway. Use it nearly everyday!

I don't think they ever sell out--they keep making them and selling them as long as people want them--the more sales for them, the more money they raise!

I was talking to a school administrator about putting the businesses in alphabetical order which would make it a lot easier to find them.

They sometimes run out and it takes them about 3 weeks to print a new batch.

How can I order one online? A friend picked up several for our golf league but forgot to get one for me

They are also for sale at the Charter School High School (main office). I also saw them for sale at the Nail Saloon in Brownwood.
You can get a full list of the restaurants that honor the card on The Gourmet Club's Search Page (LINK (http://thevillagesgourmetclub.com/search.html)). Just pull down to "Buffalo Discount Card Member" in Section 4a of that page, then hit the green Search Button. You'll get a list of all the "full service" restaurants that honor the green Buffalo Discount Card this year (2016-2017).
Some restaurants like Chicken Salad Chick are generous and give you a full 20% off your entire order. Others like R.J. Gators are stingy and give you $1 off the purchase of a soft drink, but only if you buy a meal too. (Why bother?)
Also note that all the FMK Country Clubs did not sign up again this year. (Boo!)
One year, Tire Choice advertised an Oil Change for a reduced price but punched your card with a hole punch so you could only get the deal once. Needless to say, we don't shop there any more!
If you are out of town, have a local friend buy one now for you.
We patronize those restaurants and businesses that support the Charter School with nice discounts for repeat patrons.
