Ok, so share what you guys are cooking! It's just my husband and me. We had our family Christmas last week and it seemed like we should still have a big dinner so today we went to Publix and bought everything. Oh and I forgot Publix had lobster tails for $5.00 each and I bought two!

We are getting Cody's takeout. We pick it up on Saturday and heat it up on Sunday. The meal is for four and that way the three of us should get a few leftovers! We have never done this before so I hope it is good! The manager told us they do 100 meals for Thanksgiving and around 50 for Christmas.

We were going to go to Hacienda Hills Country Club but that is a buffet and we don't eat that much!

We are having my signiture french onion soup to start, fresh pork tenderloin with a pineapple honey glaze, Real mashed potatoes with garlic and a savory gravy simmered in the pork tenderloin juices.
Fresh green beans with roasted walnuts and pearl onions, and of course my mothers" vintage recipe" cinnamon crab apples that my grandmother made on the farm for holidays only. We are not real big dessert folks, so for the finale I purchased Russell Stovers peppermint bark candy that will compliment freshly brewed coffee for all our guests ~ Happy Holiday's !

Whole prime filet From fresh market. Stuffed with grilled onions, bacon, capers, and sharp cheddar cheese. Antipasto salad and a lobster tail per person. Grape pie for desert. Plenty for 8 of us.

Prime Rib here for Xmas Eve......birthday celebration!!!

Hi:
Do you have a special rub you use for your prime rib? Last year I did salt, garlic and colored cracked peppercorns. I found another recipe this year. I might try this: Prime Rib with Garlic Herb Butter - YouTube (https://youtu.be/0p9V7tbSJxY)

I love talking about food! We are making filet mignon, Jimmy Gormley crab casserole, carrots/onions, tomato/broccoli casserole, green beans, baked potatoes with sour cream and chives, and a huge tossed salad. I ordered a large coconut cake from Miss Kathy's Cotillion and our friend Jack made a delicious rum and nut cake. Thank God it will be nice weather and we can all sit outside. We are blessed to be here!

Sounds delicious especially Kathy's Coconut cake. My favorite thing at the Cotillion!

The Italian tradition called "The Feast of Seven Fishes" served with love and pride on Christmas Eve and enjoyed through generations and today shared with our children, grandchildren and family friends. Shrimp, lobster, calamari, mussels, clams, octopus and pasta with an array of fish. A delightful eating experience!

Everything sounds so good. I hope you all enjoyed your meals. My hubby was admitted to the hospital on Christmas Eve so they fed him. I was so exhausted and stressed when I came, that I had cold cereal for dinner. For Christmas Day, they served him overcooked prime rib, and I cam home to a frozen entree. I was not there for his meal times today, but he is being fed. Since I am so tired, and not hungry enough to bother to fix anything, I'll take the weight loss instead. It has been quite a different and lonely Christmas for us, that is for sure!

I'm sorry that happened to your husband and you. Illness disregards dates. Please keep us posted and like Pooh asked, is there anything we can do to help?

Our youngest son showed up with very little notice sort of. He is being deployed sometime in February. Mrs Nucky cooked like he was going to jail tomorrow. We had a blast, he saved the day again. I knew he was coming but had to keep it quiet....rough one...whew...what a good kid and a new wife and Monstrous German Shepard. Took our mind off missing the grandkids in Jersey. Best Christmas in a long time. Not Going to be able to fit thru the Golden Arches At Mcdonald's for a while. Need some Pepto!
