Tea Party Talking Points:
http://www.heritage.org/Press/FactSheet/fs0035.cfm
I wish every American would read all this information. Are the people who attend these Tea Parties just the 10-20% of the population that really get involved. One of our own had a a post about the 80-20 ratio of people who actually do something. The 20% do the work and the 80% get a free ride?
Please observe the chart. Notice the debt for the next 10 years.

Spending, Spending, Spending: President Obama spent nearly $800 billion on the stimulus bill and then proposed a budget that would increase spending by another $1 trillion over the next 10 years. Spending in 2009 has increased 25%, which is the largest non-war government expansion since the New Deal.
The budget has all costs in it unlike the BUSH administration that forgot to put in little thinks like $600 Billion for the Iraq War.. Oh and part of the 1 Trillion was additional funds to try to save the economy that OPEN MARKETS and Greedy CEO's created... HOW SOON YOU FORGET... BUSH never vetoed a a spending bill in his life... NO budget deficit 2000 to 5 Trillion in 2008 gee how did that happen
Creating or Saving Jobs? The President set a benchmark of a 138.6 million jobs in the U.S. economy by the end of 2010. He is currently 6.4 million jobs short. Yet with rising unemployment, the White House continues to take credit for jobs "saved" without any empirical evidence to suggest this is true. The stimulus bill did create jobs in one sector--the government--by nearly doubling the size of several federal agencies and creating a huge bureaucracy.
It has only been 168 days and 140 major projects have been funded and are about to startup. It takes time... we Americans are an instant gratification society.. take a Xannex and relax a little
A Second Stimulus? The President stated that the stimulus would start helping the economy within months if not weeks of passage, but his advisor's are now saying the real effect won't take place until later this year, maybe. Meanwhile, the White House is now openly considering a second stimulus spending bill. The first stimulus already dumped $9,400 of debt into every American's lap. Why double down? NOT TRUE he said it would take into 2010 for the full impact to be felt
What about the F22 and C17 spending by both parties for aircraft the pentagon does not want or need..... that is government at its best

The trick is - If you read these headlines about Obama's policies they'd sound more like something you'd expect from a regime in Iran - not here in the U.S.A.
Think about it, Homeland Security Reports labeling certain mainstream conservatives such as military veterans and pro-life advocates as "right wing terrorists"... the government taking over automakers, firing chief executives and closing down thousands of dealerships under government decree... massive deficit spending designed to squash the private sector and make people beholden to the government for their income and livelihood.
But sadly, these reports ARE about the United States and Obama's administration (with the backing of the Harry Reid/Nancy Pelosi Congress) are pushing ahead even further - with the "Cap & Trade" (the largest tax increase in history), a massive socialistic government health care proposal, and more.
Obama -- Not my idea of hope and change !

Not only do I agree with you, but it seems to me from what I have read his position with the Hondura's points out his feelings about democracy.
Honduras president tries to over run the constitution...the supreme court of the land because of what he does kicks him out AND SCHEDULED ELECTIONS, all of this within the constitution of Honduras....and our President supports the guy who tried to override the constitution.
Scary stuff

Give me a break...healthcare in the US is in sad shape. Something needs to be done. The Cap and Trade only reverses the damage that was done by the Bush administration.
And how many of you who complain are receiving Social Security and are covered by Medicare? Both are socialistic programs....

Coal fired power plants restrictions for scrubbers were lifted by the Bush administration. In addition power plant were allowed to rebuild plants under retro fit rules which again allowed them to skirt the regulations for cleaner plants.

Without checking your validity on your points, you are saying that the entire big spend cap and trade bill just passed by the house was due to these two items ???
WOW
PS: Have your read the recent cap and trade bill passed by Congress (Again unread by those who voted but maybe you have found time to read it).....do you actually know what it calls for ?

Last point....guess you were there and I wasnt on who read what in the last 8 years...I just know that the largest spending bills OF ALL TIME are being passed with no reading.

It does not matter whether its's Reps or Dems not reading the bills they vote on. In my book, the fact that elected representatives EVER don't read bills is abominable and as unAmerican as it gets. The business of the nation is not to create "party power." When our elected representatives have total unconcern for fulfilling their office responsibilities with honor, not giving a tinker's dam about what's good for the country, then what happens is our government has deteriorated to "what's good for the congressperson first, party second, and whatever's left the country gets."
That's why the worst situation there is, is when one party controls the Executive and the Legislature. When that happens, the country always comes in third place. At least when one party has the Executive and the other the Legislature, it takes a "super-majority" to get a bill passed and into law. That gives America a chance to be the first beneficiary of any law, instead of getting what's left after the party has it's chew.

What a bunch of horse manure. They, Obama and Biden...told us over and over that the economy is the worst since the Great Depression. So how did they "read it wrong'?
These clowns are trying to re-write history. They told everybody, that was listening, that the unemployment rate would never go over 8% and now it is approaching 10%
Hundreds of thousands of jobs would be created this summer. We lost almost a half million jobs last month.
And the media? They are in bed with these clowns. Imagine what the headlines would be if McCain was the President now. Would they be cheerleading him and only printing hopeful news? NO They would be on the rooftops yelling like crazy how the USA is going down the tubes.
And the gaffes this idiot makes every day that doesn't get reported. He is totally useless without his teleprompter, and he is a liar with it.
Whewwwwwww Rant over:cus: Time for a cold one, (water):beer3:.

OMG seems appropriate. However for someone to say that health care in the US is in sad shape and the Cap and Trade only reverses the damage done by the Bush administration clearly either has no idea of what these two programs will do to harm the United States or is a limousine liberal with a trust fund and has no need to worry about the economy.

You are absolutely right...we withstood the Bush Administration for 8 years....most of the time all we heard about was Clinton...now it is Barney Frank.
The American system of government works like this....2 people, or more, run for President...we all vote. Once the guy who won the popular vote lost. We had to live with Bush...now you have to live with Obama. He won the election by a wide margin..It is what it is.

It's not cap-n-trade, it's anything that BO proposes. Some give him a blank check and a big free pass and they don't care what the outcome is or who suffers because of it.

Why is it BIG issue with the reading of the bills....how high on the talking points?
What can I do about the bill? My rep voted against it. But of course I didn't vote for him. How many Repub bills were passed in much the same manner when they were in charge....just how many did you speak out about?
So if you want a change in my original statement then just add the word some. Like this:

I realize that you are not big on facts. However, let me provide you with a few of them.
(1) The United States is not the largest man made emitter of CO2 in the world - that honor belongs to China.
(2) The US total emissions will be surpassed by first India and then Sub Saharan Africa over the next two decades.
(3) China, India and all African nations will not be a part of cap and trade except to trade their unused carbon sinks for cash from the Western World.
(4) The United States is a net carbon sink because of our extensive forests.
(5) Obama does intend to keep his promise of having utility rates 'skyrocket.' How much is as yet unknown - estimates vary from a few hundred to $3,600 per household per year (on the average). Perhaps you can afford that, but I know a number of families in this area who cannot.
(6) Global temperatures have been falling since 1998 - a period of ten years now. 2009 promises to keep the trend going.
(7) Of the approximately 180,000,000 tons of CO2 released into the atmosphere each year, only 6.000.000 tons is accounted for by human activity. The rest comes from the oceans, decaying plant life, etc.
Please tell me the facts that show that global climate change is caused by anthropogenic CO2 and how that, in particular, ties into the Bush administration. Facts please, not meaning assertions stating, "...the overwhelming scientific consensus is ........" Facts with real numbers put up by real scientists.

I understand your statement but no one can really say that. Mainly because no one knows how long each of us will live. The other thing is the stock market itself. While some people make a killing other just get killed. Or kill themselves.
Last year when I bought my winter home in TV I had enough money in one account to pay off both mortgages. My advisor told me NOT to take any out for the downpayment.....leave it in it will grow. Trust me it didn't grow.
I also believe there was a study and I will look for it. 2 states compared traditional retirements vs 401k plan retirements. The traditional ones fared better than the 401k plans.

Winning an election does not turn someone into a 4-year monarch. Actually, I have fewer problems with Mr. Obama as I do with Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Reid who have turned Congress into the largest rubber-stamp in history. Sorry, the concept of not reading a bill before voting on it is atrocious. It's like an individual signing a contract with a $1Million obligation and not knowing the terms and conditions. In this case the congresspersons, as our agents, are signing contracts by virtue of their votes with no knowledge or care about the content. Does anyone believe that's the proper conduct for their agent?

I agree that the stock market is akin to a casino. That's the nature of the place. "Investment counselors" are basically "gambling advisers." You can find comparable folk hanging around every OTB parlor - the game is just different!
As far as Social Security is concerned, the main problem with it is that the fund has been raided, so now a Ponzi arrangement is necessary to meet obligations. When that happens with private plans, folk go to jail. Here, we just reward Congresspersons with more terms in office.

Agree. I often hear that we take out more money then we put in over our lifetimes. Well, that might be the case if the money you put in just sat there and left to it's own means. But let's be honest here...if the money that I put into SS for the last 46 years was deposited into a simple savings account and allowed to accumulate compounded interest, I think, no I know, that I would be a very happy and secure fellow today.
But like Steve Z said, the money was raided. Without getting into all particulars, Johnson's war on poverty and Vietnam was the beginning and the end to my emotional well being.
I predict that there will be some sort of "means testing" to determine how much money, that you put in, that you will receive every month from Uncle Joe.

I agree with much of what you posted. My point is that nothing has changed here. The Republicans, when in power, marched in lock step to pass bills, before reading them, and Bush didn't veto a thing until the Dems took over.
Here is a link on Nebraska throwing out their 401K retirement plan after 19 years because it didn't perform as expected.

Then do we continue to accept this "status quo" of our agents not fulfilling their responsibilities to us and instead answering to party hierarchy, or do we throw the bums out during the next election?
This is not a Dem or Rep issue. I don't care if the sorry incumbent is tossed during the primary or the November election. A clean sweep is needed. Those who act as if "the Party is father, the Party is mother' can continue to do so - just get rid of the multi-term slug who two-faces you at campaign time when in fact they only see themselves as representing the RNC or DNC instead of the voters. There surely is someone in your party whose ideals and ethics are to the voters and not the party gods.

Ok lets talk turkey....My representative, from Colorado Springs, is a Republican. God himself could run but if he had a D behind is name he would lose. This guy doesn't have to run, debate anything to get elected. He has a job for life. The funny thing is even the Repubs didn't want him but he won the primary and there you have it.
My issue is with the hypocritical nature of politics...not you...politics. Eight years ago my people were stunned with the turn of events. Whenever, and this is personal experience, we said anything about Bush we got. But he is the President and Commander and Chief he deserves respect. It only got worse after Iraq. Protesting against the war was a blood sport....
Now look at what people say here in this forum? All kinds of claims...this thread is how Obama is killing the American Dream. Where is the respect for the President now? So someone will reply....you all hated Bush so its ok.
Hypocrites....it will never end.

Is this your idea or either an intelligent or factual response? As I have said repeatedly in the forum, I believe that so-called anthropogenic global warming is a hoax. You choose to believe in anthropogenic global warming - that is your right. You may also choose to believe in The Easter Bunny - that is also your right. You have shown equal factual support for both of these beliefs. Again, your right.
What is not your right is to help yourself to my money without demonstrating clear factual need for me to give up what is mine. It remains your right to support the so call 'global warming initiatives.' The easiest and most effective means to do so is to turn off your electricity. If you are unwilling to go this far than at least turn off you AC, unplug your televisions and cancel all your subscriptions. Do a reverse Al Gore and back your beliefs with actions that demonstrate commitment and conviction. Until you choose action, then you remain all talk.

Bucco....
You cannot, with a straight face, tell me that you are not pro-republican.
Are you smoking some funny weed maybe?
This is the laugh of the day. Or maybe the week, month or year.
There have been many laughs of the year but their not from Bucco. I am a conservative but I only voted for Bush because I abhorred Gore and Kerry. You democrats never take responsibility. By that, I mean that you never come up with a good candidate and then you bitch because yours got defeated. The real people in America could not relate to the Dukakis's, Gore's and Kerry's you guys put up there to run.
Don't you think that people would be protesting if Bush decided he wanted to re-shape the USA into some kind socialist France?
As for your remark about Bush not using his veto pen...you have not been listening. True conservatives have been livid about him not using the veto pen. Also, conservatives didn't like the idea of utilizing our military protecting Iraq's borders while ignoring the illegals crossing our own borders.
There...I feel much better now, thank-you.:o

Is this your idea or either an intelligent or factual response? As I have said repeatedly in the forum, I believe that so-called anthropogenic global warming is a hoax. You choose to believe in anthropogenic global warming - that is your right. You may also choose to believe in The Easter Bunny - that is also your right. You have shown equal factual support for both of these beliefs. Again, your right.
What is not your right is to help yourself to my money without demonstrating clear factual need for me to give up what is mine. I haven't taken any of your money....you don't believe in global warming and that is your right.

My distaste for 15-20-30-40-year congresspersons holds true for all of them, party irrespective.
As far as commentary for/against any administration, my thanks to the Founding Fathers and the First Amendment. In my lifetime I can't remember any president not getting verbally slammed to some degree. It seems to go with the office, and every candidate knows that today's giant is tomorrow's gnat. And since no president (at least in my lifetime) has sainthood nomination in his future, sometimes there's actually fire where there is smoke.

YOUR PEOPLE....I do not believe I hear folks talk like that and almost every post you make is dripping with this attitude. YOUR PEOPLE....you do know that party is simply a matter of registration and not some kind of birthright ?
YOUR PEOPLE....I cannot even imagine saying something like that about any political party or movement !

My distaste for 15-20-30-40-year congresspersons holds true for all of them, party irrespective... Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out how a young President in office for only 170 days has been able to overturn or reverse the well-run, admired and respected system of governance put in place by all those multiple term members of Congress who have been serving us in some cases for decades.
If Obama is that good, we picked the right guy!

Who is WE? His popularity is going south real fast and there will be deniers everywhere saying that they never voted for the guy. Just like Carter. How the heck did Carter become president when no one voted for him? Must be some kind of voo doo magic.

You didn't need 170 minutes to see where this socialist was coming from. I guess our congress is no smarter the the millions who blindly voted for him. Of course alot of the fools were only voting against Bush . Somebody forgot to tell them that Bush didn't run. I guess all them advertising ads that said McCain=Bush worked. Subliminal....like in the movie theaters they would put popcorn between the frames on the screen and your mind would have you go buy some popcorn. Yes....vote Obama...change...

the Bush whackers who could turn a bad weather weather day discussion into a diatribe on why it was Bush's fault???? And they still do.....no matter the subject.
In addition, since some have their choice now in the WH, the very same who had a comment on every aspect of the then reigning administration, and went to Bush whacking daily like a religion....are conspicuous by their absence and lack of commentary about today's affairs.
The excuse of the the tone and attitude of the thread keep one away is pure unadulterated BS....it didn't bother any of them during the Bush administration or the BHO campaign. And just like all the other forums, when you see something that is not to one's liking....just git along to the next one....you are certain to find something ye likes.

I would add to your great comments BTK, that if you take the time AND WANT TO KNOW THINGS, read some of the threads on health care and the stimulus and perhaps you will learn something or have the time to read some of the links that will provide new horizons on issues that face this country.
Dont be one that only posts if the subject is Sarah Palin....read the threads....discard what youdont like but maybe, just maybe you will learn something. I learn or get links to learn from this forum each and every day !

I have been dipping into the archives here and was reading a few this morning from September. What a contrast. The Obama is great...McCain-Palin are fools posts are everywhere. There was one woman, in particular, that was gleefully mocking Palin and praising Obama as the second coming on a daily basis. Most of them are surprisingly absent lately.
Interesting reading....
Another great thread about USA hated around the world...Some real great insights with only one person...well...read it and see ....

So in your mind being pro-republican is ok but being pro-democrat is not.
If you can find a Republican who is for:
National Healthcare Insurance
Equal Rights for all citizens
Protects the Environment
Balances Business needs with the needs of the worker bees
Then I will vote for them....

It is fun every now and then to dip in here and read the post. There are a few posters that know more than anyone in office. Kinda makes you wonder why they are not in office fixing the problem they know so much about.
Instead of Political, need to rename and call the Bear Pit

In my mind being pro USA is ok and being pro ANYPARTY is not !!!
You are so entrenched with YOUR feelings, you ignore everyone elses.
I am opposed to Obama...HAVE BEEN SINCE DAY ONE. I have been critical of this congress and the ENTIRE CONGRESS..not one party.
YOU read my posts with your party hat on.....my posts are just what they say they are. This congress (BOTH PARTIES..do I need to make that clear each time) in concert with this President are what I am against.
This political forum just became available at primary time (or that is when I discovered it) thus you read only SINCE THEN and those I oppose are the guys in the news in case you had not noticed.
I strongly object to people who use expressions like YOUR PEOPLE, or MY PEOPLE...I cannot relate to someone who thinks like that and that kind of attitude actually scares me !!
I hope that is clearer to you now...I was against MUCH of what President Bush did but guess what...HE IS NOT THE PRESIDENT ANY MORE and HE IS NOT THE BIRTH OF EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM THAT EXISTS IN THE WORLD thus your constant hammering of BUSH this and BUSH that gets old rather fast ! You can say what you want about Clinton....but you sure didnt hear any of that from me and your barbed comments have been aimed at ME !

Give me a break...healthcare in the US is in sad shape. Something needs to be done. The Cap and Trade only reverses the damage that was done by the Bush administration.
And how many of you who complain are receiving Social Security and are covered by Medicare? Both are socialistic programs....
