I wonder if it's as simple as perhaps there are more male contestants than female. I don't know, just guessing (like my usual Jeopardy answers).

There ARE more male contestants. Someone suggested men would risk more in final Jeopardy. I never thought about it.
I am not a militant woman, rather a confident one who enjoys the company of both sexes. I know that there ARE gender differences in ways we learn, what we learn and things we are interested in.

That was interesting. I have no problem with men being smarter in many ways. I know they aren't in all ways. We each have our strengths and weaknesses and I think both genders are meant to compliment and support each other. I like both genders who aren't afraid of work, getting dirty, getting things done that need to get done. And I love to figure out how things work. Sometimes men have an inclination to "muscle" something instead of think why it isn't working. Just my view.

Although the IQs of men and women average about the same. The tails of the Bell Curve for men extend out further in both directions for men than they do for women.

It is interesting to me that intelligence tests are looked down on anymore. People are always giving excuses why some don't learn as well as others. I think it helps to know your I.Q.
I am very familiar with the Wechsler and the Whoopsie and the Stanford-Binet.
I do know that we are not all equal in ability but we are all valuable.

I probably do best with history and movies. You can play Jeopardy online and I believe its an official game. Could be wrong though.

Why?
Jeopardy is not really about intelligence; it's about knowing loads of trivia, and men seem to have a propensity for accumulating facts (all of them useful, of course).

Is an IQ more important than one's EQ? Or does one need a healthy dose of both?
How does one explain late bloomers?
When it comes to the sexes my response has always been I love women, and I mean that respectfully. I believe men and women should compliment one another. My wife and I fit because, from the day we met, we each drew on the other's strengths.
and yes when it comes to approaching issues men are from Mars and women from Venus

I read a few years back that the winners are most likely people who have the ability to retain a lot of information, are usually real big on playing trivia games and read a lot of books.
Some of those categories just amaze me and how quick people come up with the answers.
I'm pretty sure you won't ever see me on Jeopardy. LOL :D

In my experience, and this is a generalization, women are better at learning foreign languages and multi-tasking. They also see more shades of color than men. They are great decorators. Men and women's brains just differ, at least in part due to evolutionary roles.

Breibart is not a legitimate news source. There are serious studies that have shown Women's scores on IQ tests now equal those of men, and in some cases surpass those of men, because of societal factors such as increased educational opportunities for women, better nutrition, being in the workforce, more gender neutral IQ test questions, etc.
As far as Jeopardy, it is a game, with a buzzer that can dictate who comes out ahead. As someone else posted, winning has less to do with IQ than with playing the game and operating the button. Surely we have better things to do than promote petty gender wars.

No, but strangely enough the correct answer is not all that far from lobster. Has a shell, moves slow, but no claws and tastes quite a bit different, but good with butter, lemon and black pepper.

Since you threw in the towel, here's the answer: The intermediate host is a freshwater snail, Biornphalaria glabratta. . Eggs enter freshwater then find this snail, where the larva mature into shistosomes and are released into the water. The shistosomes enter humans through the skin, then migrate to the veins draining the large intestine (in the case of S. mansoni), where they are fruitful and multiply. The adults then lay eggs that get into the bowel and eventually water, completing the cycle.
Before you say this is a very obscure disease, the number of cases in the US is essentially zero, but worldwide it is the most common infection of man, with an estimated 3 billion+ infested. S. mansoni is common in the Caribbean. So for those who retreat there or go on a cruise in winter, enjoy the swimming pools, enjoy the ocean, but DO NOT, repeat DO NOT swim in any fresh water such as lakes or grottos. You might find yourself coming home with more than a suntan and a bottle of rum.
