"Si vis pacem, para bellum" ("If you want peace, prepare for war") --- This Latin adage is adapted from a statement found in Book 3 of Latin author Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus's tract De Re Militari.

IN MY MIND, I SEE OUR MILITARY LEADERS AROUND THE GLOBE INTENSELY REVIEWING HIGHLY CLASSIFIED "Order of Battle" plans which outline the sequence of military actions for the troops under their command in the event that North Korea launches an attack towards Guam.

From our Naval Commanders on Aircraft Carriers, and the Air Wing Commanders, to the Captains of our "Boomer" Nuclear armed submarines, to our land based military in South Korea, and our Air and Ground forces in Guam, they are surely reviewing where, when, and how their particular forces would be tasked to strike, and in what sequence.

In addition, our military leaders around the globe would be musing on how such an attack might embolden other military enemies to advance on our troops in other lands. And, of course, our military leaders in the Pentagon, and our civilian leaders in the White House, the State Department, and our many Intelligence agencies are working long hours on deciding what our alternatives may be.

God help and guide them all. Virtually any conflict, no matter how minor, has the potential to leave millions of people dead.

I concur, and pray for guidance for all.

ONE error in judgement or understanding in these situations can have a negative impact on a generation.

God....give them all judgement.

Meaning...we have FEW friends in the world?

Well, no.

The post meant what it said. Our military has contingency plans to handle a variety of situations, and it is all built around the "Order of Battle," being a plan of who does what, and in what sequence.

There are already plans for possibilities that have never occurred to most people.

For instance, we have a plan for invading and defeating Canada.

"America has no permanent friends or enemies, only interests." --- Secretary of State Henry Kissinger

I just hope the teenager in chief listens to his elders in mind and maturity.

Ignoring your cheap shot at the man who may soon have to make a decision that could result in the deaths of millions of people, I am overjoyed that he had the perspicacity to select The Warrior Monk, James "Mad Dog" Mattis, to be Secretary of Defense.

I am confident that Secretary Mattis has overseen a Battle Plan which will do as much as possible to neutralize the overwhelming conventional artillery and missiles directed at South Korea by neighboring North Korean forces. It is this part of the conflict, not a missile attack on Guam, which would result in the immediate infliction of millions of causalities.

I would expect that a simultaneous strike would be made towards missile launch sites and any missiles which might already be in the air directed toward us or our allies.

China has announced that if North Korea launches the first attack then China will not intervene against U.S. military retaliation. That is significant, because it was Chinese intervention that prevented the Allied Forces from overwhelming North Korea in the Korean War, leading to the present division of Korea.

Clearly there is a lot of saber rattling going out. However there is also a lot of back room diplomacy occurring.

what Trump is doing is what should have been done better than 30 years ago. I do not view Trump as a teenager here but the adult in the room that puts his foot down and says we cannot tolerate this childishness any longer just
because this guy wants attention again.

We have capable military leaders and Trump will indeed listen to them because he respects strength

Maturity?

The kind of maturity of a Cowardly Clinton who gave North Korea NUCLEAR REACTORS and millions in cash?

The maturity of Bumbling Bush and Obsequious Obama, who alternately threatened North Korea and then capitulated and did nothing to prevent his development of nuclear bombs and the ICBMs to deliver them?

We don't need any more of that "maturity."

What would you do if someone with a burning torch were in your front yard, threatening to throw the torch into your house where your family was confined?

Meekly say nothing, or warn the aggressor that there would be dire consequences for such an act?

President Trump is simply warning the aggressor.

He made no threats against North Korea until their government began saying that they were going to launch nuclear weapons against the United States.

-------------------------

Think about this. Even if North Korea backs down rhetorically, now that we know they have developed this capability we must insist that North Korea be divested of nuclear weapons, or the threat remains. They could launch at any time without warning.

In regards to the underlined above, the truth is almost always more complicated...than short and easily memorized self-serving soundbites.

Bill Clinton Gave North Korea $2 Billion, Two Nuclear Reactors-Mostly Fiction! (https://www.truthorfiction.com/bill-clinton-gave-north-korea-nukes/)

Summary of eRumor:

President Bill Clinton essentially gave North Korea nukes in 1994 by giving them $2 billion and two nuclear reactors.

The Truth:

Bill Clinton reached an agreement in 1994 to “freeze” North Korea’s nuclear weapons program, and the idea that Clinton gave North Korea nukes doesn’t hold up.

Fiction plays very well on this forum. Avoiding discussion and posting from the latest chain email full of lies or simply plagiarizing the phoney thought seems to be norm. Reading bizarre websites, including satire and believing it is acceptable.

Being mislead by our own leaders as to the truth.

And doing it in the name of change.

It is like a very bad novel.

My, my.................what a bizarre response.

You quote my posting, and then post a refutation that starts with allegations that I did not make, and and then say that your allegations are "mostly fiction."

In debate and in logic that is called the error of creating a "straw man" (alleging that your opponent took positions that he did not take) which you can easily knock down. It is pathetic.

AND you ignore my challenge that you explain what you would do in a specific situation that presented a threat to your family.

Inaction would bring disaster....................

First of all, you made a statement that I simply proved was a lie.

Secondly, the straw-man that's trying to be built...is coming from your barn.

Thirdly, you really need to learn how to quote others and construct your responses in a cogent and methodical manner...so that you don't come across as having a totally garbled and closed mind.

If you don't know how to determine who made what post, because you have attributed things to me that I never said, e.g...
and then say that your allegations are "mostly fiction."
.... get one of your right-clique members to PM you and explain it.

I will give you credit for one thing however, it seems in about every third post you like to throw in how you supposedly worked for the Secret Service (apparently, to somehow express some type of superiority in your opinion over others)...but you haven't done it in this thread yet.

Now, as to having someone on my property threatening to burn my house down, of course I'm going to warn them that I will retaliate.

BUT, that pathetic analogy in the context of what is happening with NK is far beyond laughable...it is downright ignorant.

Starting with the fact, that even a moderately intelligent person understands that if the United States is attacked with nuclear weapons...OF COURSE we will retaliate in kind.

That IS the cornerstone of MAD.

But, you somehow think that biggest liar, blowhard and narcissist to ever occupy the WH (part time anyway :D) saying it out loud...somehow makes him special?

Really? :ohdear:

So, now tell us how you can so avidly support and admire someone who has basically stated that the same intelligence community you claimed to have worked for...is so inept that they can't even be trusted when they ALL tell him that Russia attempted to affect our election?

I don't "avidly support" and admire our President and YOU CANNOT FIND ANY OF MY POSTINGS WHERE I DO.

And, please get better informed. The Secret Service is not a part of the "Intelligence Community." The Secret Service is a Law Enforcement Agency which came into existence after President Lincoln signed the bill which created it on April 15, 1865............... the same day that he was assassinated.

The Secret Service was created to suppress counterfeiting. That is still one mission of the Secret Service.

Abraham Lincoln Created The Secret Service The Day He Was Shot | Now I Know (http://nowiknow.com/abraham-lincoln-created-the-secret-service-the-day-he-was-shot/)

I am astounded by your belief that you proved my statement that Clinton gave North Korea two nuclear reactors and millions of dollars was untrue by quoting a site that does not refute the statement.

Your "source," which is hardly authoritative, concedes that the U.S. agreed to replacement of North Korea’s graphite-moderated (plutonium) nuclear reactors with light-water reactor power plants. And, North Korea was given 500,000 TONS of heavy oil per year until the new reactors were on line.

Your source assumes this is the source of the claim that Clinton gave North Korea BILLIONS OF DOLLARS. Note that I didn't say Billions, but a more modest amount of Millions. At 500,000 tons of heavy oil per year, including transportation, storage, and delivery, this seems like a modest estimate.

I find your posts tiresome because you simply toss out gratuitous insults and don't direct your attention to the issues.

You have been deluded by the refutation of a statement that I did not make.

I made a simple statement. Clinton gave North Korea nuclear reactors. Coldnomore's source acknowledged this was true, arguing that they were reactors that would not facilitate development of nuclear bombs as rapidly as the existing reactors that were to be "frozen." Nonetheless, the statement was true.

And, Coldnomore's source disputed the statement that Clinton gave the North Koreans Billions of dollars. A statement that I did not make.

Faced with the fact that my statement was true, Coldnomore moved into projecting what I had implied. It is not my style to imply things. I say what I mean.

Even Coldnomore's source TruthorFicton dot com, did not say that it was False that Clinton gave North Korea nuclear reactors or gave them Billions of dollars. It rates the story (which was not my story) as "mostly fiction" based not upon the nuclear reactor statement, but upon the Billions of dollars statement (which I did not make.)

I think this is the last time I will bother to address this canard.

At least it's a small comfort, knowing that you're no longer in a position to exercise those abhorrent traits (either overtly or covertly)...so thank goodness for that. :bigbow:

And don't you EVER try to again deny that you're not an avid Trump Cultist, because almost everything you write...proves otherwise. :ohdear:

Thank you for revealing in the main forum that you're also a bigot/racist and either an actual card-carrying white supremacist/KKK'er...or at a minimum a sympathizer of them.

Playing the "If he is conservative, he is a racist" card...

Get used to it Carl, that all she has when you back her in the corner!

Backed into what corner? Hell, I'm having a blast watching those who were mostly secret racists/bigots before Trump came along...finally coming out of the closet. :1rotfl:

It makes it a whole lot easier identifying them.

I make observations on FACTS...and base my viewpoints on them.

I have never said, nor even implied, that ALL conservatives are racist (with Trump cultists however, the % gets a whole lot higher).

Just like Trump and all of his Cultists, you and your ilk take umbrage and call something 'fake news,' simply because someone had the audacity to actually take the time to point out...what was actually said and/or written and there is a record of it.

Carl made his position very clear, when he tried denigrating BLM and cherry-picking a few of the people calling for cops to be killed (which by ANY standards, is abhorrent), yet just like Trump and the rest of you...he totally ignores/discounts the issues that led to the need for a Black Lives Matter type movement in the first place.

Instead, you try and change the argument by saying 'all lives matter.'

Of course all lives matter...that's NOT what is at issue.

Because it's certainly not young, white males that are being killed or discriminated against..with very little justice.

Instead, you racists and bigots want to focus on the name of the movement...and the few outrageous scumbags calling for retribution killings.

Oh wait, that's right, blacks aren't being killed for little/no reason, whites on the right are constantly calling for changes because of it and cops aren't getting away with it in a lot of cases...how silly of me to forget that. :ohdear:

So please, trying to draw a false equivalency of BLM to white supremicists/neo-nazi's/alt-right is about as ignorant as walking into an Italian restaurant and screeching..."French food matters."

But, if you're a racist or bigot...that doesn't matter to you.

I understand.

I see no reason to further address an obvious psychotic who is mired down in Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The lies, hyperbole, and personal attacks that spew from the prolific source called Coldnomore reminds me of the days when I used to have to interview inmates in mental hospitals.

Coldnomore's failure of impulse control is demonstrated by an average of just under 11 posts a day, most of which are lengthy, and convoluted. It is a sad, pathetic case.

Thanks for the note.

Hey, now that you're totally out of the closet on your racism, bigotry and folks now know that you're not nearly as bright as you've hoped they would think, it's probably OK to go ahead and also change out that corn cob...that you've had stuck up your azz for so many years. :1rotfl: :1rotfl:

If you want to try and raise your intellectual reputation, use your below average psycho-babble skills and figure out the emotional instability that would drive someone to have over 30,000 posts....and 600+ supposed TOTV 'friends.' :D

Now THAT would be impressive. :ho:

It's ALL any of them have...they can't reason with facts...they're too emotional to reason.

But your conclusions are all wrong...

What did the liberals do? ONE crazy white guy is ALL you talk about. The whole VA protest is boiled down to one crazy white guy killed a few people.

What WAS the NEED for "black lives matter"? Oh...yes...blacks shot by cops while perpetrating crimes. What about the hundreds, the THOUSANDS of blacks killed by fellow blacks? How many blacks killed other blacks this weekend? How many whites killed blacks this weekend? The numbers don't compare...they're orders of magnitude different. Blacks are 9X more violent than whites.

White males are the ONLY institutionally discriminated against group in America.

No...we want institutional discrimination against us stopped. Especially since it DOESN'T work. NOTHING gets better when it's forced into diversity.

They ARE...blacks are being killed by other blacks at an alarming rate...look at the numbers of black on black killings in the inner cities. Why NO discussion of that? Because it's so common?

You're right...it IS stupid to compare the two. One is the smart and productive trying to "equalize" things...the other is stupid losers who just want MORE MORE MORE free stuff.

YOU are a racist bigot too...but you're once again...on the wrong side. Go ahead...push for MORE and MORE blacks...more Hispanics...America isn't falling...collapsing...fast enough.
