Here at Chez Gantner, we are having sautéed chicken thighs, mashed potatoes, fresh spinach cooked with a little olive oil and garlic, baked apples and tossed salad.

Opening a can of condensed Chicken Noodle Soup. Yep, back in Tampa.

I had fantastic meals the week before Irma when Barbara and I were at Daytona Beach and she was doing the cooking.

My father used to call home everyday and ask my mother what she was making for supper. It used to drive her crazy. One day, she was particularly stressed and she replied, "Horsesh*t and splinters!" Without missing a beat, he said, "Just make enough for one. I'll grab something on the way home."

I made chicken and rice for one of my dogs who hasn't recovered from Irma yet. I myself had leftover chicken chili.

Had take out from the Colony Plaza China Gourmet. Just read on another thread that they only have a health score of 61. Right now I feel okay.

I used to love Oysters, but I have never really found out if they are in the shellfish category that I am allergic to.

Thank goodness I am not allergic to any seafood. That is one of the things I really miss when I am in TV, seafood from my front door. I will start another 2,000 seed oysters next week, ready to eat next fall.

Not to mention, (dumb saying, since I am :)) they get their veggies, etc, delivered out back and it's dropped on the cement in burlap bags. Not too far from the dumpster behind Beef O'Bradys. The day I saw that, was when I vowed I'd never go back to that place. I haven't.

Fried oysters are God's gift to humanity. Being from New England, and most recently from Provincetown (where Wellfleets are to be had from next door), I adore oysters. But fried are the best!
