Recently there was a discussion about the difference in Northern tomatoes and local grown tomatoes.

I was at SS this morning for their Farmer's Market and met a man selling his home grown produce hydroponically. Everything is pesticide free and the price is excellent. We talked tomatoes and he suggested I try his Big Boys. I picked out two, one huge one and one medium, he charged me $2.00 ..............

I made us tomato and cheddar cheese sandwichs on Toojays Rye and was it ever good. The tomato sliced into huge slices with no white hard core. The flavor is not as good as Northern, but pretty close and we really enjoyed it.

He and his family have a wholly hydroponic business requiring no pesticides. Give them a try.

Does anyone know if he is at Brownwood? I know they have a big business and would like to know where he is situated so that we can go and buy.

Peggy, sorry I do not have his name or the name of his business (farm), but I park behind the Sharon in SS and he is the very first stall on the left hand side of the square. I believe he has the words "Pesticide Free" or something similar over the top of his canvas covering. He has one of the smaller stalls.

My girlfriend has found him at Brownwood and says he sells out really early there.

I hydroponic in winter up north. Same seeds as my great grand used and before. Brought down seeds and dirt here close but not the same as up north
