Did the OP ever exactly say how he got bitten? Did the dog just rear up and bite the hand? Or did the OP put his hand between two fighting dogs?

Theres alot missing in this story. Including the accused perp who is back home up north.

yeah, the question now is: how the bitten man is doing today, & does he know if the dog had it's shots?

Not medical advice. Many years ago I was in my teens-so MANY YEARS AGO. Our dog got into a fight with another dog and my dad broke it up. My dad was bit by the other dog. He did not have any information on the dog the owner etc.

Rabies shots were a big deal. Perhaps, less so now. My dad was advised the chance of a pet dog having rabies is very slight. Dad was fine.

Trying to find the owner, THE DOG, of course makes sense.

All that is totally irrelevant to the problem, why is that so hard to understand? Even if he antagonized the dog, he was bitten and it needs to be verified that the animal is up to date on it's vaccinations and that is healthy. The rabies shots are painful and if not vaccinated, death from rabies is a horrible process.

Yes, there is a lot missing. As far as the original poster getting bit putting his hand between two fighting dogs or did one rear up and bite him? May not be clear to all.
Rabes causes a dog to be aggressive.

If, I recall there is a limited time after being bit by a rabid animal to begin the shots which are a big deal. I suspect from the original post, hopefully they have located the person and there is proof the dog has been vaccinated. If, not I think too much time has passed for the human to take the shots if he has not.

Perhaps, we/I seek a good ending to the story rather than a rerun.

So want an update? Here you go:

My posts-frankly these threads regularly go all over the place. With villagers injecting their own bias. I am not a doctor. Rather than posting, I suggest you go IMMEDIATELY to one of the walk in clinics. They can diagnose the problem. They can extract fluid from those fluid filled sacks and tell you what is wrong and what NEEDS to be done.

My advice. I hate going to any doctor. Years ago, I had melanoma. My wife likely saved my life when she said get your xxxxx to a doctor.

Now it looks like a fake hand. LOL, another "first poster" who joined TOTV 6 years ago. 2016/17 seems to be the "join years" of so many of these types of "first post" comments. Someone must have stocked a lot of accounts for futire use (or know how to access them)! :1rotfl: Also strange as this is her/his first post yet has "20 thanks."

You don't have to post to press the thumbs up sign on somebody else's post.

All this time has gone by and no one seems to have found the guy. It's like "Where's Waldo". Maybe he/they are snow birds and have flown the coop. If toymiester's lead was valid it should have been verified and followed up on for health and safety sake.

Well if he was a snow bird they probably won’t find him unless a neighbor recognized him. But I wouldn’t hold my breath!

Interesting. From the picture, looks like a contact dermatitis. Any dermatologists here????

Your comment is challenging and thoughtless.
You don't think this photo is genuine, eh?
I guess you didn't see the original photo with the blood dripping down his hand!

YES you are correct the hand that was bitten was the right hand. The hand that has the blistered infection is the left hand. ?????????????????????????????

Why wasn't this incident reported to the Police or Local Sheriff's Office????????????

In New York, the Police would have been called. Leaving the scene of a DOG ATTACK.

He didn't say that. He's commenting on the new pic. Yes, it does look like some sort of contact dermatitis. That can happen if a topical antibiotic is used or if the pt is allergic to the tape to hold the dressing on...

I don’t have any information for you but I wanted to apologize to you for the person who likely never will. I’m sorry this happened to you but please blame the owners (if you find them) not the dog. I hope you heal with no problems. Good luck!
Can’t help thinking the “victim” was somehow complicit. Bitten on right arm. Did he try to take toy away and the pooch nipped him?Did he try to break up dog skirmish. Was victim on blood thinners so it looks like a lion munched him? Victim wasn’t just sitting reading the paper and was randomly and innocently attacked by retriever. Just unfortunate situation that he was complicit in. Victim might be wanting to hire a Dan Newlin to get justice. Something doesn’t smell right.

According to 'the other website' victim has started anti-rabies jabs, as dog or owner still not traced.

And I can't help thinking how disrespectful your comment is regarding the "victim!"

Was the man on blood thinners??!? None of your business and why would that matter considering the circumstances?

There was NO mention regarding a toy! Why are you assuming so much?

Why are you crucifying this man without knowing very much . . .
No, not very much; very little!

Your comment is downright offensive.

I can't help thinking you are grasping at straws. What evidence do you have to lead you to such conclusions?
In any case, such "complicity" as you describe, does not relieve the dog's owner from the responsibility of providing documentation that the dog has been properly vaccinated against rabies. When and if this dog's owner is identified, he deserves to be sued.

Agree with you. Something doesn't smell right, and it is the way you seem to want to shift responsibility on to the victim. A person was bitten by a dog. The dogs owner did not report the incident, provide aid or assistance or information. Fled the scene with the aid of another, now an accomplice.
Wonder if the daily would run a public service ad with photos saying, " if you see these men contact xxx-xxx-xxxx". Just a crazy thought.
Today victim is undergoing possibly unnecessary medical treatment and two men who are on the lam knowing that there are others who know what kind of individuals they are. Sad for all involved.
