Law enforcement presence was in the area of I-75 and CR 673 on Mar. 29. Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) was assisting Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) attempting to locate a Hispanic male who fled on foot. The male is believed to be in his 40s and last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans

Oh, my...we really do have a police force in Sumter!! I'm glad someone spotted them.

That description is about 3/4 of the workers out here. Check the rooftops and landscapers.

I was wondering that myself sometimes, then I realized that SCSO is reactive and not proactive.

The Sheriff's Dept. must be doing something right. Our crime rate is very low and they seem to clear almost every one of the few felonies we have.
