Do you never allow them anywhere near plastic bags, to prevent them from accidentally suffocating after inhaling some of the plastic? Do you not allow them to ever eat peanuts, strawberries, or chocolate, to prevent ever having the risk of them being allergic?

I'd prefer to have children who are raised with knowledge and understanding and accepting that other people are different. And then when they become adults they can make their own informed choices. I would feel horrible for any child who is brought up not being exposed to "differences" and not being permitted to even consider tolerance toward other. That sounds like abuse to me. When they're out in the real world, assuming mommy and daddy allow them out of the house when they're adults and legally allowed to make their own decisions, they won't know what to do when something they're taught to hate ends up being their boss at work. They will have been taught to fear, and hate. That's very sad. Pathetic even.

Teaching kids about abnormal gender behavior such as adults pretending to be female when they are in fact males is not damaging? Reading a book about musicians may not make a child a musician, but buying them a musical instrument may/MAY point them on the way. I WAS a kid. I'm qualified to know what kids need, having been one myself.

I am a parent, so I am "qualified to know" how to parent, according to your form of correlation. Normally, parents "know" what children need more than the children. Children may want something, but do they really know what they need? They have not been in this world long enough to know what they need, therefore we have something called parenting. I would not supply a child with a beer because I feel that they should understand what a bar fly is, or what alcoholism is. I would not hand a ten year old the keys to the car so that he/she/it would understand the rules of the road.

Children do not have enough experience to understand that what you tell them is not the norm. Back when most of these posters were kids, there was a musical called South Pacific. Of course - old folks have lousy memories, so they forget that they are TAUGHT their attitudes - hatred, vitriol, and bigotry isn't part of their chemical makeup or DNA, it's taught to them by their parents and their environment. Maybe they had a babysitter who touched them in a private place and it made them afraid of "adults who touch children" or something. Out of all this whole big, long, weird mess of a thread, my last post has disappeared. Why me?

Yesterday, I wrote a post that basically said kids should not be used in marketing clothing that has anything to do with sex direction and should not be used as pawns for political pandering — either way.

While it can be argued that the Bud controversy might not have been the best decision — naive at best, exploitive of transgenders at worst— it did not enter kids into the arena. I basically said that, too.

I said that I thought drag queen story hours were a decision made by idiots, but drag queen shows for adults should be left alone.

I also said I am opposed to dressing babies in onesies with confederate flags on them.

Then I said that those sicko beauty contests that people put their little girls through make my skin crawl and should not be happening.

At the end, I said the thread was getting really weird and the baiting needed to stop.

Then I saw a brand new poster welcomed for suddenly appearing and posting for the first time to start this $h!+ $linging thread. I thought that was odd and spoke volumes about the direction of the agenda TOTV is encouraging as a part of its business image.

I am sure whoever deleted my post or reported it justified getting my moderate opinion pulled by claiming it was political. Gimme a break. How fair is that? Look around. Lots of far more political posts left to stand. And, yet, moderate me had to take the hit.

Oh well, enough from me. I am sure this one will be gone, too — probably along with me — for the first time ever. Had a couple of warnings, but never banned, not even benched. I think this one might do it……If not, I guess I need to do it myself. Being Boomer will be a hard habit for me to break.

Actually, it really is ABNORMAL behavior, but that has nothing to do with teaching children cross dressing by a corporation. NORMAL behavior is defined by what is and has been done by the majority.
And I really do think that the majority of post on here have been very civil. Almost everyone that has disagreed with the idea of promoting cross dressing or the gay/lesbian lifestyle have also stipulated that they have friends and/or family that consists of gays that they are very fond of. Almost everyone also stipulated that they tolerate the lifestyle that they do not agree with, but do NOT tolerate that lifestyle being introduced by strangers, to children.

Many Christians (including myself) have said that GOD hates the sin but loves the sinner. That may be correct, but the fact is that the concept is not a quote from the Bible (as far as I can tell). I believe it originated from St. Augustine. His Letter 211 (c. 424) contains the phrase Cum dilectione hominum et odio vitiorum, which translates roughly to "With love for mankind and hatred of sins." But, truth be told (borrowing a phrase) I really do subscribe to the idea that GOD hates the sin but loves the sinner, or else HE would not have provided us with salvation through HIS son. But, I digress....again.

Probably the same people who appointed you. No one needs to be appointed to decide what someone else is going to market, or not market. If you don't like it, don't buy the clothes, don't wear them. You get to decide. And they get to decide whether or not they'll sell them.

That's one of the great things about America, home of the Free Market, and commerce that isn't owned and operated by the government. That's what a Republic is all about. I went back and read each post and I did not see any/ANY cancellation of commerce or immigration. I know of NO ONE that is against "legal immigration" but I do know of millions that do not approve of Illegal immigration. We are a country of laws, period, enough said about that. No one is cancelling commerce. We enjoy Free Enterprise in this country and everyone is free to advertise and sell their product as they wish, as long as it is legal. They also have the freedom to fail. Just to alleviate your confusion, most PARENTS do not wish cross dressing freaks teaching our children that gender is not valid and that they can be whatever gender they wish. Most of us (parents) do not care a lick how you dress as long as it is not obscene. If one wishes to draw attention to themselves dressing like a clown, that's up the them. Don't teach our children that it is normal. There are only two genders, so some folks just have to live with it no matter how they pretend otherwise.

Excellent post, but those who have never experienced discrimination will have a hard time accepting or understanding. Read about fetal brain development and differences between male and female brains. If a brain develops one way while the body develops another there is a conflict - the way you look and the way you are treated doesn't match the way you feel. Almost an example of an oxymoron. Accepting OR forcing acceptance? Tolerance is more likely before condoning. The problem is that "they" want to be accepted as normal when the fact is that they do not fit the normal category. Suffice it to say that most good folks tolerate and have removed laws prohibiting the perverted nature of some of those alphabet representatives. They may not condone and shouldn't be forced into condoning against their will. Tolerance should be enough. You generalize when you suggest "accepting of those that are different" when that could encompass many other examples of deviant behavior. Should pedophiles be accepted because they are different? After all, they were accepted in Greece. Bestiality accepted because they have different inclinations? Where is the line between normal and abnormal or what we accept or not? Like I have said many times, keep your inclinations in private. Are there any limits to what is to be "accepted", however those impacted got there they have substansule issues , and again there is no reason to make their lives anymore difficult, at the same time to lose sight of reality can not be healthy, certainly not for the greater society and in the long run the individual. In a former life I had ,from time to time deal with individuals in crisis , one basic rule was never enter into that person fantasy or delusion, I learned to always be pragmatic but at the same time my experiences left me with more compassion . The susceptibility to the constant stoking by media is now on a level we have never faced before — and could not have imagined back when we were carrying around those floppy disks. But it’s here to stay and getting worse by the day, as screens rule us more and more. The methods used are simple ones — the same ones used by scammers who tap, tap, tap into the emotional part of the brain until it takes over.

(Personally, I wish corporations would not get involved in political hot buttons and just stick to what they know how to do. These recent messes are proof positive of that as far as I am concerned.)

Re. The basic subject at hand: Transgenders come in all kinds of personalities, just like everybody else. And I bet most transgenders do not want to be used as marketing pawns.

I know one transgender, not well, but was able to have a recent conversation when she told me that she has to plan her life around where she feels she will be safe from harassment — or worse. She made the decision to transition after she was well into adulthood and does not regret the decision. She just wants to live her life — and — not be dehumanized. (Many of these posts smack of dehumanization, as the posters pathetically tell themselves they are being noble.)

Target stores are getting bomb threats— proven hoaxes — for now. But bomb threats always require evacuations and scare people……

Those threats make me wonder how these posters among us — who cannot let this fevered pitch go — would feel if the all-too-usual, unspeakable happens and innocent people, including children, that these ranters and ravers claim to care so much about, die by the hand of someone who is susceptible and whose brain is “squirmin’ like a toad.”
