At least Romney has the cajones to speak plainly to an expected hostile audience and take the bad feedback as well as some positive feedback.
I'd like to see the current occupant of the people's house speak before a Tea Party Convention.......................yeah, that's gonna happen.

I might add, as opposed to the current resident of the WH, the message was the same and not altered to fit !

Can't wait to see if Mitt Romney can increase his support from African-Americans to maybe 2% from 1%. George W Bush received 10% of the African-American vote, while John McCain received 5%, but Romney hasn't been able to get passed that 1% range.

it might surprise you to learn that many black americans are finally getting smart and realizing their race has actually been held down by old time democrats and that most of the laws raising them up have come from republicans...martin luther king's niece is a powerful speaker for republican and conservative causes. the speaker at the villages tea party monday night was an author who calls for more blacks to become Frederick Douglas republicans. there is a documentary film called Runaway Slave which you can probably find something about on google or youtube... blacks are becoming more educated through republican led programs and are beginning to see the light that they won't be used as an ignorant power base for any party.

the racial sting is beginning to show. Funny how the Obama supporters need people to be in specific gender, race or religious boxes to offer a statement about something. Very consistent with Obama's quest for dividing and separating classes in America.
The need to see an R or a D or a black person or white person or Catholic or Jew or oriental or hispanic to make a statement is pretty limited thinking.
How about one time some of you class mongers looking at people as though you were in church. Where none of that class, separatist stuff is supposed to matter. Or is that only limited to the time one spends in a pew?

""Today, Romney for President released a new television advertisement titled 'No Evidence,'" the Romney campaign will say in a press release, when the ad is formally released later this morning. "Just like he did against Hillary Clinton, President Obama now continues to spread dishonest attacks about Mitt Romney to distract from his failed record. Even though fact check after fact check have found his claims to be false, he continues to mislead the American people. It is no wonder why our country has lost confidence in his leadership."
New Romney Ad Calls Obama Liar, Dishonest | The Weekly Standard (http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/new-romney-ad-calls-obama-liar-dishonest_648448.html)
A soundbite for sure but now hopefully we begin to point out the lies.
And this, in my opinion, the highlight of the speech...
"do these five things – open up energy, expand trade, cut the growth of government, focus on better educating tomorrow’s workers today, and restore economic freedom – and jobs will come back to America, and wages will rise again. The President will say he will do those things, but he will not, he cannot, and his record of the last four years proves it."

DaleMn I missed this post initially. Your reference to 'educate" triggered an article I read the other day concerning Rev Jeremiah Wight. It seems he believes white people are infecting black people with their alien DNA. He further explains that these balck people who attend Brown U, Harvard, Yale USC, etc are being infected with alien DNA.
Essentially what he is saying is that these folks have been provided the opportunity to be educated and hence opened up to the world of economics, etc. which has changed their prospective on life. I guess Wright would prefer they stay uneducated and remain in poverty in the ghettos so he can force feed them his anti-american/white propanganda. Can you imagine.
Also along those same lines I am pondering why Morgan Freeman is making such a point publicly to the fact that Obama is NOT the first black president but the first white and black president. There is an angle there but I have yet to discover it????

Those of us who actually watched/listened to Romney's speech know that his appeal was to ALL people, not just those of a certain COLOR.
It shows tremendous stereotyping and bigotry to presume that none of the NAACP people would listen and think about views that challenge their current views/positions. The standing ovation at the end clearly indicates this.
His illustration in the beginning, as to how a republican gets elected governor in Massachusetts when republican registration is 11%, demonstrated clearly that he won that seat by appealing to ALL people in the state.
He appeals to all people's INTELLIGENCE and capacity to think and reason, also......instead of appealing to only the non-thinking population's desire for a "free lunch" and free ride instead of earning a living by working and earning one's way.

Actually, Romney was elected MA governor in 2002 with 49% of the votes. And in 2002 of the total registered voters: 13% were R, 36% were D and 50% were I (or unenrolled). As you can see most MA voters register as unenrolled or "I" because of the open primary.

I watched Mitt Romney's speech yesterday and never heard him mention that under his tax plan, anyone making $30,000 per year will see their taxes go up while millionaires and billionaires will see their taxes go down by as much as $250,000. I also saw VP Biden give a stem-winder of a speech today to the same group to much applause.

I consider Romney the best of the Republicans that ran, and Obama has a wonderful vision and message if it works out for him and us, so I don't really have a dog in this race. Since I am not the parinoid type, I think they both can lead us slowly back to prosperity.

to those who thought my post about blacks getting smart was demeaning, would you rather they remain in slavery, ignorance, poverty and crime which the liberal welfare system has seen fit to encourage all these decades? no, i applaud the fact that there is awakening among many and they will achieve their place with true equality and deserved respect.

Rush Limbaugh says Mitt Romney was booed at the NAACP convention because he is white. Funny, I watched VP Joe Biden's speech today at the same venue, and he wasn't booed one time. Then Romney calls the booers freeloaders. No wonder Romney is polling at 1% with African-Americans. Sounds like Rush is playing the race card.

I would expect him to get some boos from the crowd if he did show up, just like Romney knew he would when he dissed ObamaCare.
I don't think Obama has the same kind of confidence and character to speak in front of a possibly hostile audience.
Romney also got thunderous applause when he said he'll stand for the family and traditional marriage. I'll bet anything that cause some consternation in the White House.

I know Ed thinks you're on target here, but IMHO you are extremely naive if you believe that Obama loves this country.
Obama is trying to destroy the free America you know and transform it into a country more in line with Marxism.

What your post tells me is that the Obama propoganda has unfortunately reached you and his propoganda reeks of defeatism. Clearly I would not want Obama mentoring my children because without a doubt they would grow up with no self-esteem.

Initially, I thought that your first post was "odd" and possibly "demeaning" but I don't like to immediately judge people so I chose to not respond to it. However, your second post and attempted clarification seems to have been written by a racist.
I'm not saying that you are a racist because I'll willing to wait for further clarification but according to your post, you are saying that MANY blacks (from your first post) are enslaved, ignorant, poor and criminal due to (your preception) reliance on "a welfare system" (from your second post).
First of all, MANY (which would be numerically greater than more - which would be numerically greater than the majority) blacks are not ignorant, poor or criminal.
[No one in this country is enslaved - and to refer to African Americans as "enslaved" is particularly offensive.]
Secondly, you imply that African Americans rely on a "liberal welfare system" that has "encouraged" them to become "ignorant, poor and criminal". I'm not sure what you consider to be a "liberal welfare system". If I were to assume that you mean either transitional assistance to children and families (commonly referred to as "welfare") and/or food stamps, I would also assume that you (as a well-informed woman) would know that Causacian Americans are overwhelming the recipients of this assistance.
Additionally, since you refer to "ignorance", it appears that you're speaking about public education. Again, funding for public education overwhelming benefits Causacian Americans in ways that are too numerous to mention.
Finally, African Americans have achieved equality and deserve respect. It is not something that "will" (in the future) happen based on some awakening defined by others, except, possibly, in the minds of those who are bigots.

In reading all the really really hateful posts by some today and tonight, it is apparent that there is an effort afoot to manifest their lack of grace, class, adulthood and facts.
There is one entire thread so that these folks can make sarcastic hate filled remarks, which is reaching for a new low in behavior. (see "VP Cheney Holds Cash Bash For Romney" )
I suppose this manifests the trouble that Obama is having and it must just bring out the hateful and spiteful people.
I sure hope that these folks are more adult in real life.....About time the administrator took action on some of these folks....ruining, and I am afraid for good what used to be a nice forum.
One thing to disagree on an issue facing our country or disagree on a candidate but today and tonight broaches on supreme and total infant type behavior.
Facts are often not pretty. Especially when facts - not heresay - but facts tend to expose a candidate for the phony he (or she) really is. The above response is typical of one who really has nothing else to say.
Now we know why Cons hate vetting their candidates.

Wow, what a bad few weeks for the Republican Party. First, Arizona immigration was struck down by the Supreme Court, next, Supreme Court uphold the individual mandate on Affordable Health Care, and now Romney may be lying about Bain.
When there is nothing to defend your candidate, is it the proper thing to do to try and get the posts banned by the forum administrator? What happened to the free speech guaranteed by the Constitution?
I think Harry S Truman (no period after the S) stated it best when he said, "If you cannot stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen."

i do not think my posts need any further clarification. i am the opposite of a racist because i see how the democratic party has used the black voting block for decades and i resent it, and so do they! at least the ones who realize what has happened. hopefully, more and more will. now they (the libs) are targeting their next victims, the hispanics, with bribes of dream acts and easy paths to citizenship ahead of other immigrants who are waiting patiently to go through legal processes.....i don't know where you get your figures and i don't care. i think the number of all races needing govt assistance under this president has shot up due to his disastrous economy, but few other than blacks have been on welfare for generations. that is a form of slavery in my opinion.

Your posts were very clear and very accurate. I can speak with personal validation of what you are saying. I was actually working FOR the Democratic party and left that party in the mid 70's for exactly this reason.
I cannot speak to nationally but I know that then the black vote was being used and I left.
It continues today and you are correct, many leaders in the black community are waking up to that fact, and hopefully it will change.
A young black man told me in the early 70's he was afraid that his race would be used politically and I told him he was silly !! I wish I could find him now and apologize to him.
I might add that what the new message will do is lessen the tension between the races in a big way.

I might add that what the new message will do is lessen the tension between the races in a big way.
chachacha: I understood your comments. To further illluminate and support your position Jeremiah Wright has publicy stated that white people are deliberately infected black peoples brains with alien DNA. What he was reference was that fact that many African americans have been attending universities such as Yale Harvard, etc. Essentially what he is saying intentionally or unintentionally is that these individuals are becoming educated. Education is intended to open a person's mind to new things and with this information and experience come new ideas, opinions, etc. So a guy like Wright is now prevent from spewing his propaganda because the people he is now speaking to refrain something like don't go peeing on my leg and then try and tell me its raining

Stick around....it gets better.
