What is your favorite Christmas movie?

Obviously, everyone loves "It's a Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart, but who has another favorite or several favorite Christmas movie(s)????

My favorite is "A Christmas Story" where Ralphie yearns for a BBgun but his mom keeps telling him he is going to shoot his eye out.

Love the scene of him in the rabbit p.j.'s given as a gift by his aunt.
Ditto for the table lamp (shaped like a leg) prize his dad wins in contest.
Ditto for his dad cussing at the furnace.......so many nostalgic scenes.

I like all of the afore mentioned movies but we watch Elf over and over and love it. It has become a tradition to turn all the lights off and just sit with the Christmas lights on and watch Elf with a box of popcorn!

Elf is one of those movies with a lot of memories as I saw it with Tal-Tar- and Zac at a movie theater in Oldsmar, FL when it came out. Who you see the movies with often comes into play with me and others I suppose. Starring Ed Asner and Maureen Stapleton. Gruff businessman separated from his family learns he has only months to live. Very emotional and heart warming Christmas story. You cant find a dvd but it can be viewed online via youtube. It is my favorite of all time.

Some others not yet mentioned are;

"Home Alone" We watched that the other day after not seeing it in years and it was good. Funny seeing the crooks steal valuable VCR's.....

"Scrooged" is also a good one.

A little known one that is truly one of my favorites is "The Fourth Wise Man" starring Martin Sheen. If you can find it, it is truly a treasure.

Another rare one is "The Christmas Gift" starring John Denver.

My wife likes "The Night they Saved Christmas" starring Jaclyn Smith, Art Carney as Santa, and June lockhart as Mrs. Santa. It's about an oil company drilling up by the north pole threatening North Pole City.

"Going My Way" and "The Bells of St. Mary's" are also good. Most folks like "White Christmas" but the earlier film, "Holiday Inn" is my favorite of the two....

It's a Wonderful Life is arguably one of Capra's most popular films. I recently wrote Karolyn Grimes an email expressing how much I enjoyed her new book and also her work in the Christmas classic It's a Wonderful Life.

A litle known fact about "It's a Wonderful Life" is that it bombed at the box office when it first came out as America didn't want to see a movie that contained a suicidal man. It was not an uplifting movie for that time period.

There was a certain predijuice about italian Americans. I remember being called a WOP by a classmate who ironically was Italian himself. Italian immigrants got this derogatory label as when they first came to America, as they were "without passport", (WOP).
